We had our parsonage dedication today. The couple that gave the church the land for the parsonage did so over 70 yrs ago. The man died in 1927 and the woman died in 1942. The land could only be used for a parsonage, and the church finally put one on the land 2 yrs ago.

The parsonage had not been dedicated, but we did today, along with a Baptism.

You can see the pictures here http://www.northmillcreek.bravehost.com/Celebrate.html
While you are there go to the home page and sign our guest book.

I hope these pictures will encourage you as we build the kingdom.

    Yours in Christ,
    Tim Barnhouse

    Blessings abound there!

Thank you so much for sharing that! Hard to imagine such a place left in this country like that, so beautiful! So much like my own church while growing up! My father baptized me in the San Jacinto River!
The pictures, the church and the country side are just great and I pray that the Lord continues to grow this church in His name that brings all glory to Him! God bless all of you there!

It was a wonderful day! We have had 10 saved since Easter. We got to baptize 5 today, and in 2 weeks, we'll baptize some more.

God deserves all the credit. He is soooooo Great!

One of the guys that was baptized today, got saved on Easter.
He had told us earlier that he could not make it today, that he would be baptized in two weeks. He had to go on a camping trip with his Aunt this weekend and couldn't get back in time.

Well, God had other plans. His aunt got sick and had to go to the emergency room. I just so happened that she got released from the ER and was going home at the same time we were gathering at the creek to baptize.

He made her stop so he could get baptized.

He has also informed us that God is calling him to preach.

    Today was GREAT!!!!!!!!!

Very nice, glad to see others using the rivers and creeks to baptize, it seems so much more like Jesus.

    Congratulations!

I would like to ask one question. It took over 60 years for the church to finally build the parsonage?

It was slow in coming, but just right in God's timing.

When the land was donated, our church was in a 6 church parish.
It would have seemed silly at that time.
The couple that donated the land had no idea that one day each church would have their own pastor.
But they must have had faith.

You know there is a reason that WV is called almost Heaven.... it is in my back yard.

Seriously, if you were flying over the parsonage, and look down, with the way it is layed out, porch on front, sunroom on back, it is shaped like a cross.

What is even more spine tingling, the people that donated the land are very distant relatives of mine. I grew up over 200 miles away. And the story goes that they didn't have children, or any heirs to pass the land to, so they gave it to the church.

    God surprises sometimes.

WEllllll, maybe not ice cold, but it was chilly....The temps got down around 45-50 last night here, so it was cool.

    But after a bit I didn't notice.

Ah, man, I just realized I posted this in the debate section.
I spend most of my time on BB here in the debate section, so it is a second nature to come here.

I'm sorry.... now we need to debate over something.

How's this... Which is better, a creek baptism, or one in a baptistry?

Everyone knows creek baptisms are more spiritual, because thats running water, and thats how the sins get washed away. :saint:

    Ha, ha That's funny.
But that's ok in a baptistry the sins just goes down the drain...

I have never seen a "creek" baptism. You guys should come to the rocky mountains and do one for me to see.

I will watch from the shore holding blankets in case you make it out. Haha
