This bill not only brings tax relief but it opens up anwar and does away with the obamacare mandate. This is a great day for America. Further I like how Nickie Haley is handling the UN. Today she said that she is surprised at the countries we have helped are not standing against us in the UN and we will be keeping a list. She also told the UN that Obama's support for Hezzbollah is a stain on America.

"Like the message that Nikki said at the United Nations. For all of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council, or they vote against us potentially at the assembly.

They take hundreds of millions of dollars, and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us.

Well we're watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We'll save a lot. We don't care.

But this isn't like it used to be, where they could vote against you and then you pay them hundreds of millions of dollars and nobody knows what they're doing."

Well good, asserting a strong posture so we Americans are not looked at as wimps.

Based strictly on implemented policy and appointments, ignoring the things he says and does, but just going strictly on policy, I've been very surprised.

I love those policy things he's done. I just wish he'd shut up.

Although in the run-up to the tax reform vote he was fairly well behaved and on message.

What the Church needs to do is pray for our President. Daily. He's a very different man than he was in the 80s and 90s and even just a few years ago. Those prayers can cover a range of things. I believe Trump is a blessing from God—one that many have missed.

I'm not really all that surprised. I always thought he would be a better president than most people thought possible. Despite all his faults, he is a results oriented businessman.

I struggle on that. I like how he fights back. But yes, a lot of his tweets are sophomoric.

Agreed. OTOH some of his tweets have totally changed the narrative of the leftist media and thrown them completely off balance. Luck or genious? Who can say?

I wonder if you would not mind explaining this comment about Trump’s being a blessing from God.

Trump is Trump.

His brashness and braggadocio are part of the Trump persona.

But even at that, to me, he is a refreshing change to the establishment schmooze.

Israel has been cautious about the status of Jerusalem, in the interests of relative peace. Now Trump has jumped in.

Is that in US & Israel's interests? Is the present Israeli regime acting as God would expect Israel to behave with regard to the Palestinians? I understood that the expectation of Christian Zionists was that Israel would be blessed after the "tribulation" when they would recognise Jesus as their Messiah & King.

Now is the US in effect buying votes for the support of a controversial policy? The nations voting against a changed status for Jerusalem are not voting against the US, not against Trump, nor against Israel, but they are voting in the interests of avoiding increased conflict in Israel/Palestine.

But according to his pre-election speeches, Trump is in the practice of "rewarding" Senators for the support of his interests.

I am Amil, so I don’t beat any Zionist drum and my hair doesn’t catch fire every time I look to Israel’s future or lack there of. Considering all this, I work for an Israeli company and I know first hand what most of them believe. First, they are not religious in the Jewish traditional sense, they are highly nationalistic and most of them prefer European culture to American culture ... mostly German and French. And most I speak with could care less about Jerusalem, prefering Tel Aviv where they could sun bathe by the water...ie they are mostly secular. They recognize they are being used... most have commented they wouldn’t mind seeing the old city bombed into rubble.

Influx of visiting holiday friends/family has begun, had a chili dinner the other night (we ALWAYS discuss politics, often it's the main topic), and this is precisely the take I got from the conversations. His base is getting even more convinced, not less.

Yea me to... everyone here regrets ever voting for and supporting him. But then that’s New York and New Jersey.
