I now have a son!

He's adorable!

We have three dogs and Sam, a wolf/shepherd mix, although only ten, is going to have to be put to sleep soon, which is breaking my heart. His arthritis is so bad now he is in pain constantly and has started throwing up his meals all the time. We knew this would be coming, and probably early as he is such a big animal. He is the only dog who has ever 'talked' to me. He would put his head on my lap and his voice would go up and down in a sort of imitation of mine. He's also the worst hair-shedder in the world. His entire metabolism is geared toward growing all the hair he will shed in a day or two (this is my personal opinion and not a scientific fact)! He is also the dog who, if I was uncomfortable around someone, would sit right between me and the person and stare into his or her face. Not a sound, but very intimidating. I loved it during my single years. Because of Sam I was always safe. I was his.

So as my heart is breaking tonight finally realizing what I will have to do, it is a joy to see a new little one start with you. We got King, another shepherd mix (part lab) last year and he will be a year old soon. The digging and chewing and head in a bag -- and destroyed slippers and pieces of lawn in the house, and my retarded son's shirts in shreds because King thought he could play tug-of-war with Chris, and Chris would just stand there while his shirt was ripped off...

Oh yes... that is mostly coming to an end now. King will start serious training this month as he turns a year old.

Dogs are special. They are companions and friends and guards and tail-wagging, barking nuisances. All of it.

He is so cute. Aren't dogs the best? I just got a beagle puppy and he is precious. Thanks for sharing your son with us dad. lol

I have to admit that is pretty cute, Chris. That's saying alot from a non-dog lover.

I WAS a dog lover and had a Miniature Schnauzer and a Cairn Terrier plus two cats from the animal shelter but I was mauled by an Akita almost 9 years ago and almost lost my right leg. I developed a horrible fear of dogs that lasted a number of years. We gave away our dogs and one cat. I still have the other cat. He's 9 now.

Thanks for sharing that picture! I think, someday, we'll have a dog again. I know Nick would love one.

I think he is lovely. He is going to keep you busy...lol I think dogs are great company. I would love to have another dog, but Rob says no...Cassie died in my arms at the animal hospital last October. We have a cat, but she doesn't do much, i would have a dog again any day. Woody looks great, i am sure you will be best pals.

 

Funny, you don't look like a dog. Imagine my surprise when I clicked on your link thinking I was going to see a human baby?

He's beautiful by the way. He must look more like his mother.
