I have been gone for 4 days and when I get home I have an email from ebay saying that my account has been suspended because of what appear to be fradulent listing on my account. I notified ebay that I had not listed anything in a long time. There was also another email from ebay saying they had changed my email address from an address I never heard of to my current address.

Someone has stolen my ebay ID.

I have changed my email password as well as passwords on other accounts. Specificly those dealing with my finances. None of those accounts seem to have been touched.

I will continue to check other accounts for evidence of tampering.

Is there anything else I should do?

    Bill

Better notify Paypal if you use them.

speak to the FBI, identity theft is many times a federal charge or wire fraud, since the sites, companies and networks are many times in multiple states. Check your credit report also for accounts that you do not know about

I might be wrong about this, but I believe rather than your computer being hacked it was your ebay account itself. I don't even use ebay any more. I've read somewhere else where the same thing happened...except the person who hijacked that ebay account bid on automobiles and very expensive items. I hope you get to the bottom of it all, it's so sad that people can't focus their attention on something more productive in life.

I finally got a response from ebay, and here it what happened.

    1. someone got access to my email account.
    2. they then used the forgot userid/password function on the ebay site.
    3. they changed the email and password on the ebay account.
    4. they placed some items on sale at ebay.
    5. they changed the email address back to mine.
    6. ebay noted that the email change was to and from a different country. The address was an @yahoo.de domain.
    7. ebay suspended my account due to this suspicious activity, and notified me via email.

So it appears the actual security breach was at my isp/email not at ebay.

We were using an alternate email address as our ebay identification and they insisted we change it or they'd do it for us. I'm guessing there's been a bit of this lately!

Glad you won't have any problems from this tho! My password on PayPal is not the same as on Ebay, thankfully!

My goodness, that's scary. Just curious about something though! If they used the "forgot userid/password function" on the eBay site. Isn't there a secret question they have to know the answer too before eBay is allowed to give out your Password? I may be wrong, but it seems like it had that when I got my account with eBay.
