Ie7

I've liked it. It tabs so I only have to have one open with lots of tabs instead of the 12 windows I used to have open.

 

I upgraded yesterday and have thoroughly enjoyed the application. Everything works as expected and having the tabs is great in setting up multiple screens for easy reference.

It does, however, open full new windows when following links. That was disconcerting the first time.

All in all, appears to be a good upgrade from Microsoft.

 

Looks good so far. I like the phishing filter. Still, while a nice upgrade, I think Firefox is safer, and has most of the features of IE7 already. MS is playing catch up.

That doesn't bode well for Microsoft's emphasis on security in Windows Vista (of which, Internet Explorer 7 is a basic technology).

 

Ver. 6 was so slow I put Firefox on ages ago. I'm really slipping in MicroSoft confidence.

I wanted an update to Word the other day so asked them to scan and tell me what I needed. It was huge download, so with dialup I opted for the cd versioin. It came and it was XP office which I don't have????????????? Wouldn't install - wrong version found error.

Wife has xp so no big loss but so much for their auto sensing technolessology.

 

IE 7 is a typical MS mistake.

I always wonder WHY I spent so much time and money becoming an MS engineer . . . then I remember, they have really, really, really good marketing.

Seriously, you ain't missin' much. It's pretty, it's nice, but so is Firefox. Or, you can skin your old IE with Maxthon or Avant Browser.

 

I installed it a while back and saw no improvments over Foxfire.
I also had some conflicts with the Malicious software protection they highly recommend,
...it conflicted with my B-Safe program that I highly recommend.

...so I uninstalled IE7 using go-back, which seemed to work well however...
They may have installed a virus into my system... :tonofbricks:

It even got around my protection against changing it without my approval. :BangHead:

I've used a number of antivirus programs, none of which have been able to identify the source. I'm guessing it's almighty Bill.

Bear in mind, if you used it "a while back", it was still in beta. The official release just came out.

 

...and so I download the "new and improved" version this morning and...

Libronix announced that the final IE 7 product breaks its Logos Bible Software

"To fix this, we'll be making an "emergency release" of v3.0b available later today. This will fix the worst problems with IE 7, and a more thoroughly tested release will be available in the coming weeks (which will also have the latest Vista compatibility fixes)."

I have IE7, its better than version 6. However I use Mozilla Firefox and Opera more. I don't prefer IE, Mozilla Firefox and Opera Browsers are FREE! :smilewinkgrin:

Ummmm Firefox upodates itself and is a Very Stable Great Browser!

 

IE7 is a great upgrade to IE6. FireFox released version 2 today they have adopted some of the features of IE7 into this newest release. They are both great tabbed browsers.

 

I like FireFox, but some sites aren't tested for it and look mmmmm well odd -- same thing with Opera.

Now, I had problems with Avant. It kept shutting down. I liked it when it worked, but it wasn't worth the trouble.

 

I suppose people have their preferences.... I just don't let Mircosoft run all my Browsers or Information. Mircrosoft has enough in their business with most all of our computers.

Really Mozilla Firefox 1.5.7 has worked Wonderful for me!

 

Just got my IE7 update and guess what - it wont work. Starts to open then disappears!

 

Come on c4k that is their new security feature, if you can't use it it is secure! :laugh:

 

C4K, try uninstalling and reinstalling. I also have read (but have not tried) that you can just go to Control Panel and uninstall it, and then you are back to IE6.
