If Jesus Returned Today

OK, anti-wealth fits the criteria for being a socialist. Otherwise everything else on the list is irrelevant to socialism. Furthermore, saying Jesus "Was never against abortion or premarital sex" is demonstrably false.

So demonstrate it with Christ's words.

I am not in favor of either and I would really like you to show all of us with Christ's words that those stances are taken by Christ.

Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

Mark 10:18-19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.

Anything else I can help you with?

Jesus on homosexuality:

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

Nope, that is OT law, not words spoken by Jesus.

Yes, evil comes from the heart. No question about that.

Wow. That's your take on that verse? Let me give you mine:

If thoughts about murder, adultery, and fornication are evil, think about the evilness of turning those thoughts into action. In other words, Jesus is clearly condemning abortion and premarital sex.

I have never heard any Republican call Jesus a socialist. I will go on record as calling that a lie.

Neither was Jesus a radical. We need to refrain from using such infantile language to describe Jesus.

As far as Jesus not being against that list of things.....well, God is against them throughout scripture. If you think Jesus was not then you fail to understand the Trinity.

Jesus was not against wealth. He was not against public prayer. Statements like that show a lack of understanding of scripture at its most basic level.

This meme of yours, Crabby, is written by someone who doesn't know Jesus at all and has written a Bohemian caricature of Jesus and is using to hurl hate at conservative people.

If Jesus really were here today, he wouldn't associate Himself with Republicans or Democrats. There's too much Phariseeism in both camps.

What does the Bible say?

  • Yes, Jesus “hung out” with sinners. But why? Because loved them enough to call them on their sin. Jesus was in the healing business. The Pharisees asked him why did hung out with these people and He said, “I haven’t come for the righteous but for sinners. The healthy don’t need a doctor, but the sick do.” Mark 2:17

  • Jesus didn’t accept or tolerate their sin for one second! He wasn’t “hanging out” as cool and hip friend who doesn’t care about sin and just thinks anything goes as long as it makes you happy, but He associated with sinners as the Great Physician.

  • As for him not speaking English – there WAS no English to be spoken nor was there an America to be a citizen OF.

  • Jesus prayed publicly and privately. I can show you if you like. To say He was against public prayer is to claim the Bible lies. Jesus was never anti-public prayer. He was against arrogant prayer.

  • Death penalty? I don’t see where Jesus tells the thieves on the cross that they are there unjustly. I do see in Matthew 15:4 where Jesus says this, “For God said: Honor your father and your mother; and, The one who speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.” The law called for the death penalty for certain things and Jesus upheld that.

  • Jesus was peaceful , but he was not a pacifist. There an entire thread somewhere here on the BB that cites much evidence towards that.

  • Homosexuality? Jesus DEFINED marriage as a union of one man and one woman and said it was that way from the beginning.

As I said, this meme has a purpose. It's not to reveal Jesus Christ, but to portray conservatives as ignorant beasts.

People,
Quoting anything other than Jesus to crabby means nothing to him. He only accepts the words of Jesus as inspired and inerrant.

You're trying to argue with a man who doesn't believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, but only in the inerrancy of his own thoughts and beliefs about what the Bible says.

Well, then, my post was satisfactory to Crabby. I hope he likes the box the scriptures I quoted put him into.

The OP is the dumbest piece of trash that I have read on this site in a long time. Matt Wade called it heretical, and I agree.

John 1:1 LITV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Revelation 19:11-13 LITV
And I saw Heaven being opened. And, behold! A white horse, and He sitting on it having been called Faithful and True. And He judges and wars in righteousness. And His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head many diadems, having a name that had been written, which no one knows except Himself; and having been clothed in a garment which had been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God.

You will only accept the words of Jesus, CBT? It is all the Word of Jesus. Pick a spot - OT or NT and it is the Word of Jesus. The Prophets major and minor? Jesus. The Pentateuch? Jesus. The poetry? Jesus. "In the beginning" to the "Amen" of Revelation. Jesus. Not just words but The Word.

"Anti-public prayer?"

“Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.” Jesus answered and said, “This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. [John 12: 27-28].

Yes or No: Was Jesus a liar? a hypocrite"

Yes or No: Is the guy who wrote that a liar? an idiot?
