If One Holds To "Unlimited Atonement" of The Cross, Why NOT Believe In Universalism ?

Can you expand on this? If God elects in response to foreseen faith, how can it be that we do not elect ourselves?

Good question!
God will elect us based on IF we respond in kind to His offer?
strange that the Lord would let us be the Agent of our own salvation, that we would chooseChrist...
Since we are all dead in Sin, natures bent away from God...
Even more basic a question...
Can an unrenerate person even respond in faith to message of Christ?
IF it takes an act of God to 'wake" him/her up in order to receive the Lord as saviour...
IF that is true, than no one would be saved apart from God basing his foreknowledge on Election, NOT the other way around some here are suggesting...

Does not the foreseen faith view assume that this faith is self-generated without any prior involvement from God? And doesn't it hold that God is powerless to elect anyone unilaterally whose faith he does not foresee? And thus, election is totally dependent on the individual?

Assumes that somehow God has given a measure of saving faith to all, in order to give 'enough" faith to actually receive the Lord...

But wouldn't that make God a "monster" if he gave all people "common grace/measure of faith" knowing they would not use it anyways and turn to Christ?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have God just give it to those he knows cam respond?
Wouldn't those be the elect of God?

Agree with your statement, its just begs the question though:

Brother, no questions are being "begged" here. I gave you a consise statement in my previous post. Without Christ's ascension, we'd all be lost!!!

Can man respond to Gospel by his own faith, spiritual alive enough to respond in kind?

Man can not and will not respond to God unto He first draws him, and in this drawing, I believe He gives that individual enough faith(saving faith, I mean), to put their trust in Him. But not all who He gives this faith to, will put it to good use, IMHO. So, IOW, faith comes from Him, and is not conjured up by us.

Does he need God to 'allow" him to respond by giving him the gift of grace and faith?

I think my answer to the first question, also answers this one as well. Man does not have the "faculties" to call out to God on their own. God must first call/draw that individual. In that "drawing process", He gives them the faith to believe, but pride causes some to reject this calling/drawing. I am speaking from my personal experiences here.

i am I AM's!!
