trying to figure out what basically would be the purpose to having those operating in church today, what would HS be speaking to us NOT in the bible already?

That is one way and a purpose of tongues in the church, edification. It is in the bible but the real question and purpose is it in your church?

You still didn't answer the question in the OP.

And no, it isn't in my church. We all speak the same language. And no, that isn't the real question.

That is what Yeshua1 does not understand about the purpose of tongues in the church. It is not saying anything new from scripture, it's the fact that the Spirit is speaking in the church for that churches edification. It could be one speaking a known verse in tongues, and another interpreting that verse. That is edification. What edification happens in your church?

^^^^^ How often does that happen in your church? All I've ever seen at a Pentecostal church is a bunch of people jabbering unintelligible words and NO ONE ever interprets anything!

There is nothing edifying about a bunch of people babbling in an unknown "tongue". Been there, done that. It's a bunch of baloney.

Bump

Still waiting for plain n simple to answer my question.

I do not count, but several times over the past few months we have had interpretations, prophecies, and healings, right in the church. We are edified according to God's word, confirmed by the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders following. This is much better than what we had before, a rather" in the flesh" church that had nice chicken dinners and prayers with no results. The walk is better than the talk. We can say we stand on the bible all day, but until you have real fruit like I've described, it's less than what God wants for us.

Did this happen EVERY TIME someone spoke in tongues? Someone interpreted what they were saying EVERY TIME? I doubt it. But please elaborate.

What "prophecy" did you hear? Why not edify us all and share it?

Who was healed and what were they healed of?

Be specific.

My testimonies are on the board if you care to search about healings and words of knowledge. What are your experiences with edification in your church?

The question was what would He say that's not already in the bible.

Edify the church is already in the bible. And why would we need to speak in tongues to do that anyway?
What are preachers saying that is not already in the Bible? Speaking in Tongues does not contradict the Bible!

What was the purpose then? If you could understand that correctly then you would understand the purpose for today!

Reading your testimony isn't what I asked. Please just answer these questions. That shouldn't be a problem.

There was interpretation all the times I heard. Others were praying in tongues rather quietly as we worshiped. One lady was healed of deafness since a child. Everyone knew her and knew she was deaf. A little girls eyesight was restored. She was blind and we all knew it. How is your church edified?

This is about the sixth time you have been asked to supply the following, the three things required for tongues to be active.

1. What does the message from heaven physically sound like?

2. Where is the interpreter in relation of the receiver of the message? How long does it take to interpret the message? What does the message say?

3. Is the message addressed to the the local congregation? Was it edifying?

All you have to do is post what this three step process is like, a specific example.
