For the third time in the last eight months, the California refineries are claiming that the steep rise in gas pump increases is due to the closure of refineries in order to make repairs and get ready to do their seasonal mix.
This excuse used to be used twice a year, and it made sense, as the refineries did need to mix blends for summer and winter months. However, now they have gone to the well one too many times, and Californians are starting to think [including me] that these are mere excuses to lower the amount of fuel available to pump in order to increase the prices [supply and demand rule].
Each hefty raise in pump prices means more taxes for the state at the pump, and it seems that the state and the oil producers are inclusions with each other in an effort to pump up the state tax coffers to help fund the large amounts of salaries going to overpaid politicians and appointed leaders of departments in state government.
I suspect that Senators Boxer of Feinsteind will launch, yet another, investigation into the inflated prices [a ploy to make the loyalist to the Obama groupies] to give the look that they care. In the past, I have yet to hear the results of these many investigations, and never once have their faux inquiries led to any relief at the pump.
This has to stop. If it doesn't the state and feds will have to find another way to fund Obamacare, because those who may a policy will have to forgo the policy to keep gas in their cars to get to the minimum-wage job. After all, $9.00 an hour can only be stretched so far!
Enough is enough is enough! :tear:
So what are you paying now, versus a month ago? And is the increase in the pump taking away from things that you could and should be doing with your hard-earned money? In other words, what are you doing to make ends meet? Are you giving less to church? Buying less food? Eating out less? letting car maintenance go undone? Wearing clothes that would make you worse dressed than those on skid row?
