Are colleges and seminaries teaching and equipping students how to maintain older church property, buildings, and congregations? Parenting? Intergenerational wisdom?

What about gardening? Food storage and preparation? Nutrition?

Or are they teaching "how to entertain"?

Why would seminary teach people how to maintain property, buildings and the like? Gardening? Food storage and prep? Nutrition? Why would they teach any of that?

They do, however, teach about working with people, parenting and family ministry, and intergenerational studies.

But they do, Dorothy (Mrs. Paige) Patterson even had the 'Horner Homemaking House' built for that at SWBTS:

Students model clothing they constructed themselves

"took place in the parlor room of the Horner Homemaking House, with the participants having family members and friends present to applaud their drop- and empire-waisted, pleated, and portrait- collared creations. The HHH is stage to many of these hands-on classes, including cooking and the various homemaking practicums."

"'During the semester, we studied the ‘fruits of the Spirit,’ because we needed to study the fruits of the Spirit during this class,' said Mary Nichols, class instructor"

Seminary agriculture class: a collaboration between SEBTS & Bayer CropScience

"professionals from Bayer CropScience – an internationally recognized company – donated their time and knowledge to teach local believers and seminary students the basics of agriculture....Herb Young, a marketing production manager at Bayer, first began to pursue the idea of agriculture classes at Southeastern after conversations with several students. As part of a small group at The Summit Church in Durham, N.C., Young realized there was a need among the seminary-student members of his group....Young spoke with colleagues Phil Gibson, Nick Hammon, Paul Hewitt and Randy Myers and together they developed a syllabus and schedule for the six-week long class. They approached Scott Hildreth of Southeastern’s Center for Great Commission Studies about the idea of hosting the class at Southeastern's campus. It would be specifically targeted for Southeastern’s ICP students but also open to interested parties of local churches....After approaching Bayer with the concept of the class at Southeastern, the company sanctioned the training and decided to offer certification for each student that went through the training."

I think the main thing they are doing is teaching students to fight about Calvinism vs non Calvinism.
