We are all under the laws of nature. Frankly gravity and inertia can be quite helpful.

The laws of men can range from anarchy to libertarian-ism to republicanism to federalism, to fascism/ socialism, to communism. Since it is now in various jurisdictions it is illegal to say anything that causes someones feelings to be hurt, we might guess at which end of the spectrum we are closer to.

The authoritarian end of the spectrum is often attempted to use the force of law to change human nature. These are either led by Satan to accomplish his goals or are so foolish as to think that humans are perfectible outside of the grace of God.

Good article, but I do not believe that you can legislate people into righteousness or morality. The Puritans proved that. After Cromwell died, people couldn't wait to bring back Charles II, make money out of the slave trade and substitute religion for Christ..
It took the Great Awakening to make people think that maybe it was wrong to have slaves dying under the lash growing sugar, or having seven year-olds choking to death cleaning sooty chimneys. The only way to stop people killing their babies is to do it the hard way - preaching the Gospel, brining people to Christ. He, and He alone, will change people's hearts and then they will no longer tolerate the abomination of abortion.

Sigh, when society legislates things they can become part of the common behavior. Sometimes laws are for protection. All laws are based on a set of morals. No law lacks a set of morals. those morals can be good or bad but they are always based on a set of morals. Pro-life laws protect the lives of people. Pro-choice laws protect women's personal choices contrary to life.
