Inauthentic Spam Mail

    I have received this same email in my spam mail ten times in the past two weeks!

    United Parcel Service Notification

    Dear Customer.

    The parcel was sent to your home address.
    And it will arrive within 3 business day.
    More information and the tracking number are attached in document below.
    United Parcel Service of America,Inc.
    ______________________________________________________

    I have not opened the attachments. From the poor English alone I know something's fishy i.e. millions in Nigerian money is waiting for you fishy.

    It's likely a virus. The attached document is probably a worm/trojan horse.

    Good call in not opening.

    It amazes me how many folks will open it, though.



    The "best" one I got was a notification of underpayment from the IRS.

    Scared me!

    The grammar was good (unusual). The header read "so and so @irs.gov."

    The only giveaway was when I put my mouse over the email address and looked at the bottom of the screen, it was a ".ru" address.

    (using another address, because I don't want the IRS having my email) I sent it to fraud@irs.gov.



    The scammers are getting better.
