I am looking for quality titles to collect, read, assimilate, whatever. I am particularly interested in works on inductive Bible study methodology, and books on expository preaching (methods, directions, etc.).

I have found that by asking for suggestions, I cut out a lot of guesswork and unneeded expense (buying the wrong books). Thanks for any and all help.

    In Christ,

Just about the best for inductive Bible study (IMHO) is Living by the Book by Howard Hendricks. I had the class at Dallas Theological Seminary that the book is based on, and it revolutionized my Bible study. There is also a workbook style study guide available, and there was a video set at one time, may still be available.

As for expository preaching, Haddon Robinson's book is good. Sorry, I don't remember the exact title, probably something like Expository Preaching .

The Modern Preacher and the Ancient Text, interpreting and preaching Biblical Literature, by Sidney Greidanus (1988)

In the book, Greidanus applies general principles of interpretation to feret out the meanings of the test and then provides guidelines for responsible preaching.

I have Robinson's book (Biblical preaching).

I have just finished re-reading The 12 Essential Skills For Great Preaching by McDill. It rolls both topics into one.

I've got the one by MacArthur and the staff of the Master's Seminary, and a few others that turned out to be flops.
