Glen, it appears that you have given us a link to the private moderator's forum, to which the rest of us won't have access. Hope they'll be able to help you.

Brother Glen likely picked up some scumware somewhere.

I found out about it when another moderator got it back in April. Here is a description of the problem and my posts from that time:

There is a program my friend downloaded that remembers your information when you fill out forms on the internet. You type your information once and it remembers it for you. Thinking back there were a couple different ones. If I remember right it was something like Gator and Gozilla? It's been so long I can't remember if these are the ones. Anyway the same thing happened to him. He uninstalled them and the problems went away. I guess advertisers paid them to add link to their ads.

Did you download a program like one of those? If so uninstall and see if that is the cause.

I had something similar on my computer. But it would put porn banners in odd places and I could type in babycenter.com and be transported to an adult site.

My PCcillin didn't or couldn't remove it, but I used Spybot and it took it out. Removes all stuff like that, it is also FREE. So I'd recommend giving that a go for sure.

TYNDALE -- more than likely you've got eZula or Kazaa loaded on your computer. They use something available with Internet Explorer 6 called "TopText" (which is why those words highlight--they're actually links; and every time you click on a highlighted word, not only do you get re-directed to a web site you didn't really want to go to, eZula gets paid for you going there)

Go to your Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and look for eZula or Kazaa (or TopText). If you find it, click on it and click the Uninstall button. If it gives you some pathetic warning message about "certain programs may not work correctly", click on the button that allows you to continue.

Everyone needs to be VERY careful about installing software. More often than not these days, programs install additional programs. Many of them ask if you want to install these programs, and we usually click on Yes (not realizing they're actually separate programs that have nothing to do with the program we're trying to install). America On-Line gets automatically installed, for example, with many programs.

    Hope that helps, Tyndale.

Tyndale, one more thing: If you need to keep eZula, there's apparently a simple way to rid yourself of the "yellow plague" as the people at ScumWare are calling it:

From http://www.scumware.com/wm5.html -- The clever folks at SearchKing looked at the problem and noticed a design weakness in TopText. When you refresh or reload a page that shows the Yellow Plague, the yellow goes away.

Personally, I'd recommend uninstalling eZula. If you can't find it in the Add/Remove Programs, do like someone else suggested and get SpyBot (or even AdAware) and remove it that way.

    Hi Glenn,
I had something similar happen to me and found that when I downloaded certain programs like kazaa and some screensaver/backgrounds that it automatically came with this junk attached to it.
Download the "spybot search and destroy" spyware remover, and just to make sure, run lavasofts "adware" program.
If ezula or some other program is causing this, and it probably is, then these 2 programs will take care of it for ya. I like the search and destroy best because it has a backup utility so if you inadverantly remove something of value you can recover it.
    Hope this helps.
