Ink and your Bible

    Has anyone found an ink that you can use in your Bible that doesn't bleed through the pages?

    I have just purchased a new Bible and am currently using colored pencils. But, I really don't like using them.

    I bought a package of pigment ink pens and they bleed through even though they claim to be non-bleeding.

    Are there any suggestions out there?

    Try a professional "drawing ink" as used by draughtsmen and architects. You may need a "drawing pen", I recommend one with a 0.25 or 0.3 mm nib. However, to use this kind of pen takes a little practice, and a light hand, so don't go straight to your Bible with it. This is what I use and it works a treat.

    I just use a regular ballpoint pen and have never had a problem. I DO have a problem with highlighters bleeding through, however.

    The pen I use is made by Koh-i-noor called Rapidograph. Mind you, I have a whole set of pens for drawings, but you can buy individual pens and india ink. I use the No1 or .50 pen.

    You can buy these pens at any supplier of art supplies or draughting supplies.

    I also use a regular extra fine point ink pen, I don't get bleed throughs.
    Sue, I use a dry highlighter inmy bible, never anything to bleed through. I get them at the christian book store, if your doesn't have them ask them to order them, I'm sure lots of people would like to have them.

    Thank you all for all of your wonderful suggestions. You have been kind and helpful. As I stated originally, it is a new Woman's Study/Reference Bible, even my Pastor finds to be wonderful and I don't want to ruin it.

    I also use a Rapidograph. The one I have has a point extremely thin. It is a 4x0. It is good for writing in a bible except that you have to be careful not to tear the pages. I wish I had bought a 3x0, as it is not quiet as thin. I have not had a problem with the ink bleeding through.
