Internet Addiction is a Sin!

I do believe that if we spend too much time in chatrooms and forums, if we spend too much time surfing the Net, if we are overly attached to Broadband and Cable -- it shows a lack of self-discipline and can be a form of sin.

I believe that I too am guilty of this, and I would like to cut short my visits to the Internet.

What do you think??

God called me to minister on the Internet.
I will soon (couple of years)
retire from my secular job and have more
time to devote to my Internet calling.

There are those Baptists (and other cults)
who are seperatists and
who forbid Internet activity and other like
demonic activity. After all the
Beast from the Sea of Revelation is A COMPUTER :D :(

If you feel like you spend to too much time online you should cut back.

If one is spending so much time, that they are neglecting important responsibilities, then it would be too much time spent.

But I can post, read, and surf, watch TV, talk to my husband, eat, drink and pet my dog all at the same time. No problem with time on the internet.

Clothes can wash and dry while I am on the internet. Food can cook while I am on the itnernet.

The only problem that I see is I would get more exercise if I could have a portable computer connected to the internet.

Is it a sin? Depends on what you are reading or posting. But then also, it is an addiction? I'm sure I can give it up anytime, but then I do need to check my e-mail, order gifts, food, clothing.

Must leave the internet for a while to put clothes in the washer and dryer and food to cook in the oven.

:D

Abuse of anything is a sin. Therefore, refrain from the abuse in sincerety and faithfulness.

I'm with you Ed. One of the things God told me to do was to post on forums and preach Jesus! !

So when I log on, I'm going to do Gods work!

Peace,

Tam

I think that you will some day come to the conclusion that your use of air is an overindulgence and therefore a sin.

At which time of course your internet use will greatly decrease when you look like this fellow...

It is as in all things ......fine in moderation, if it is consuming time that is needed to look after your family and/or others it is unworthy.

Wow! That's what I call multi-tasking!! Apparently we men can only do one thing at a time, but that's another subject!

To him who knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
