I'm very proud of the brave soldiers that have
defended and defend our country. I get a lump
in my throat just thinking about the brave men
and women that have died or been maimed defending
our constitution. We owe it to them and our
children to remain forever vigilant in the face
    of communism and tyranny.

I had this poem on my computer and wanted to share
    it after reading this article...

    "Old Soldiers"

Often it was, I heard dad say,

    Old Soldiers never, ever die.

    They just simply fade away.

It wasn't til he died when I knew

these words of wisdom rang true.

Like loud, Heavenly Bells of Liberty,

Brave Soldiers will always, always be

around, willing to defend righteous ground

til The General in the sky calls them Home

to rest forever with The Angels

because freedom's call was well known

deep, inside The Heart of American Soldiers.

The military always tries to learn for short comings. They do a good job of "lessons learned". I'm very proud of them!

As I understand it, the Military Intelligence JIDC Battalion basically creates another echelon of command and control to "raise the bar" a bit higher on where decisions can be made. The basic "rules" and methods of interrogation remain unchanged and have always been completely acceptable. They'll be doing the same job they always have but have, hopefully, better oversight.

What's also forthcoming are more clear instructions on the command and control of detention facilities and the delineation of OPCON, TACON, and TECHCON between the various units that make up a typical facility. High on that list will be clear - more clear - definition of who's in charge of what.

Right now there's an interim manual out covering this that puts OPCON in the hands of the senior Military Police commander - where it's always been - while recognizing the TACON and TECHCON aspects of the MI, Medical, and others operating in a detention facility. This will more positively eliminate the excuse of not knowing who's orders to follow.
