Iran and Iraq moving closer toghether?

I have noticed since this new President,that Iran
is moving at quite a pace to either help Iraq or
dominate it...what say you? And is Iran co-opting
the United States in the process?

TEHRAN — Former foes Iran and Iraq said Thursday that they would sign a military cooperation agreement that would include Iranian help in training Iraq's armed forces, despite likely U.S. opposition.

Just an observation I goggled condi rice ..nothing
out of her mouth ..not a peep. Iran just made
some very quick and its debatable savvy moves.

What would a Iran-Iraq look like? some clues from
the southern shite city of Basra.

The once libertine oil port of Basra, 350 miles south of the capital and far from the insurgency raging in much of Iraq, is steadily being transformed into a mini-theocracy under Shiite rule. There is perhaps no better indication of the possible flash points in a Shiite-dominated Iraq, because the political parties that hold sway here also wield significant influence in the central government in Baghdad and are backed by the country's top clerics.

Iraqi Prime Minister to go to Tehran next week
by then we should hear something..right!

 

Actually he is going Saturday but his advanced

Baghdad, 12 July (AKI) - Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari has confirmed that he will visit Tehran next Saturday, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA. Al-Jaafari is quoted as telling the Iranian charge d'affaires in Baghdad that he was confident his visit would improve relations between the two neighbours. Nine Iraqi government ministers are due in the Iranian capital on Tuesday to prepare for al-Jaafari's visit.

From the Iranian point of view, such a high level delegation from Baghdad is considered a 'turning point' in bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq, who were at war from 1980-1988.

During an historic visit to Tehran last week the Iraqi defence minister, Saadoun al-Dalimi, signed accords with his Iranian counterpart agreeing to cooperate more in border security and the fight against terrorism.

Tehran has committed to providing one billion dollars for the reconstruction of Iraq, after al-Dalimi, made a formal apology for the war crimes committed under the former regime of Saddam Hussein.

Whose side is he on? or is he playing both sides?

not a peep from bush or condi..condi did give
russia a compliemnt on how they are conducting
nuclear technology to Iran though.

And we have been very clear that we do not see the need for civilian nuclear power in Iran, but for instance, we have taken note of the way that Russia has safeguarded or intends to safeguard the Bushehr nuclear reactor, making certain that there is assured fuel supply but a take-back provision to diminish proliferation risks.

So we will continue to consult with our European colleagues as they move forward.

I think this story is being under reported ..
major..major...money and resources are being
exchanged with Iran and Iraq...now remember
everyone the bush speech...the "Axis of evil"
who was on the list.

But not a peep ..not a sound ..from INCOMPETENT
CONDI RICE!...and I don't care if she is blue,
red, purple or grey she is all about hollywood
and fluff.

I wrote this a couple of days ago because I thought it would be merciful to give her a chance
after a few days but now it has been a over a

Condi Rice does not even utter a word about the
mega deals between Iran-Iraq for a whole week
now but she sure has time to condemn India about
Iranian/Iraqi crude...just plain weird she is
not even on the same page..or she ignores the
major to focus on a minor ...INCOMPETENT! and I don't care if she is green,purple, or yellow she
gave china a pass this week...Russia and its
nuclear deal with Iran...neglected a Southeast
Asia summit of nations and insulted those people.
She likes the rock star fluff but she does not
deliver rock solid results..our tax dollars down
a bush culture dry hole.

I refuse to let this story die..because it will
be a major story. It is not making a lot of noise
in the United States Press or has Condi Rice even
addressed it. I preface this by saying bush put
Iran squarely on the axis of evil list..It concerns me the bush administration is making
an admission here and the outcome is not pretty.

Two weeks now and the silence is deafening, perhaps Condi is waiting word from bush.
