The sky is falling!

 

I'm glad the people that fought for our independence from 1775 to 1783 didn't have an attitude like this...wow...EIGHT YEARS!! 8 yrs of fighting and watching the enemy burn down our captial city, hunt down those men who signed the Declaration of Independence, having their lives, their families and their livelihoods destroyed.

It took many years for our country to get on it's feet and since that time we have gone through many upheavals that included a Civil War. So why do we think Iraq is going to be any different. In fact it is harder just with the different cultural and religious ties. America was already a diverse nation that united under one leadership and Iraq was/is a nation of different people forced to be under one dictatorship and trying to recreate a nation from hardly anything.

So when we think that we have been in Iraq too long...think of how long it took to get our nation to where it is today...and we still have a ways to go!! Every life is precious whether American or Iraqi, but freedom is more precious and affects generations beyond one man's life! Yes, we have lost or wounded many of our finest young men & women but the Iraqi people have lost alot more lives than we have and they stand to lose alot more if we pull out! So stay the course and stay in the fight!!

 

The plan was to create a stable democracy in Iraq while implementing the infamous "road map" between Israel and so-called "Palestine." Iraq would, in gratitude, allow us to build military bases there, as a deterrent to attacks on Israel by one or all of the Arab countries. At the same time, Lebanon would continue its path to democracy, and democratic voices in Syria, Iran, and Egypt would grow louder. That was the plan. What we see now does not in any way speak to the solution that Bush wanted "over there." The whole of the plan is, at present, in shambles. I understand the need for a stable democracy (other than Israel), and military bases, especially air bases, as a deterrent, but I cannot support the so-called "road map", with Israel surrendering the land God gave to them in Genesis 12 & 15.

 

I don't think that was the intention at all. I think the intention was to have a quick war followed by a compliant puppet government (expat Chalubi & gang) that would allow the US - US owned companies - to sell off its assets and control the oil leases in exchange for rebuilding the infrastructure - "war debt". I believe our president thought the Iraqi people would prefer a benign foreign occupation to a mad but native dictator.

And, as genesis12 mentioned, to maintain a permanent base in Iraq. Having troops in Saudi Arabia near their holy sites is a cause of unrest in the area - Iraq is far more neutral religiously (and the other Arab leaders feared Saddam).

Instead of listening to the neoconservatives and globalist agenda perpetrators, the Road Map perpetrators, and people like Ahmed Chalabi, Karl Rove, his Muslim advisor Grover Norquist, and his Royal Saudi Friends, he should have fallen on his face before Almighty God in humility and asked for wisdom in all areas in both domestic and foreign policy and not discounted and discredited the advice of people like Franklin Graham and others who have given him Sound Spiritual Advice based on Godly principles. That's certainly what I expected him to do when I voted for him the first time. But I was naive, unaware, and uninformed of his strong muslim ties.
