"[The Supreme Court] will rely increasingly . . . on international and foreign courts in examining domestic issues."
-- Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Note that Justice Steven Breyer has also expressed a similar viewpoint. Moreover, six of the nine justices have relied, in their decisions regarding American constitutional cases, on judgements made in Jamaican, Indian, Zimbabwean, and European Union courts. Bear in mind that those on the U.S. Supreme Court are to interpret the U.S. Constitution and only the U.S. Constitution. How do these justices get away with such anti-American acts?

"[N]ational sovereignty is no longer a viable concept."
-- Columbia University Professor Zbigniew Brzezinski in his 1970 book, Between Two Ages. Brzezinski, who is a member of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations), was President Carter's national security adviser.

"[W]hether our Constitution fits into the governing documents of other nations, I think, will be a challenge for the next generation."
-- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Breyer, in 2003. [Why should we bend to foreign interests?]

"I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."
-- John F. Kerry, during an interview with the Harvard Crimson, February 18, 1970.

"We are at the beginning of a long process of breaking down the walls of national sovereignty. UNESCO must be the pioneer."
-- William Benton, assistant U.S. secretary of state, when he addressed a UNESCO meeting in 1946.

In the next century, nations as we know it [sic] will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all"
-- Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State.

About as cool if a democrat was in charge. Any normal American should sleep with one eye open with either party in power.

And yes, I agree with Rev about the Supreme Court.

Why were Brzezinski, Breyer, Kerry and Benton the only ones quoted?
If you do a google search on the article by William Jasper, there are also references to
Henry Kissinger - former Secretary of State to President Nixon
Robert Zoellick - former U.S. Trade Representative for President George W. Bush
Alan Greenspan - former chariman of the Federal Reserve
    among others.

So you did a search, found some other quotes, but instead of posting them you question their not being posted. What is that about?

I am simply pointing out that, on the surface, it appears as though the people quoted were cherry picked according to their political affiliation. Why were only those on the left side of the political aisle noted in your post? Do a google search on the name of the article you cited, and it is clear that BOTH sides are allegedly involved in this.

So, am I to assume that they were cherry picked?

    Agreed.

The same goes for you in the other discussion: it seems rather peculiar that you ask of others what you haven't done yourself.........

    Hey Rev,
Quick question....Where in the US Constitution does it say the Supreme Court is to interpet the US Constituition and only the US Constitution? Just wondering if we read the same constitution. BTW, BiR made a valid point, why not just answer the question? I don't see how it would make a difference if he posted the quotes or not, as anyone with half a mind can look them up.

Haven't you guys noticed that when asked tough questions, there are certain people that will duck and dodge instead of answering..

    It's the Republican way!

    Jamie
The new slogan for the Repubicans, Duck and Dodge.. and maybe it will go away....
