Gos knows thhis heart and the Bible says theat the heart of the king is in the hand of God, but from his fruits I would say he is a Christian. He professes to be one.

 

President Bush made the remark a couple of weeks ago at a mosque in Wahington that the Koran is "The Word of God to the prophet Mohammed." I don't know that anyone who is a Christian (i.e. born again, new nature, indwelt by God's Holy Spirit) could refer to a Satanic "Scripture" as God's Word.

 

Bush has in the past publicly stated that he has committed his heart to Jesus Christ. He's definitely a Christian.

 

He has an obligation to be religiously tolerant because of his position. He represents a country that has thousands of different religious beliefs, we aren't in a Christian nation, i see what he does concerning other religions is tolerance, not endorsement. Evangelical Christians are, for the most part, intolerant, we shouldn't believe what others believe, and we shouldn't endorse what others believe, but we should realize that they have their own beliefs and opinions, just like we have ours, we have an obligation to show them Christ's love, only when we begin loving others for who they are, and quit calling them dirty, satanic, heathen scum, will the world realize that there is something different about us... that we have something they don't, something they need...

 

You may believe he has an obligation, yet the Bible gives him a command. Which is he going to hold to? He may be judged by his constituants on his obligation, but God will judge him on the command. Any public servant who openly admits Christianity is going to be held accountable to Scripture. I hold him accountable. Accountability is good for all.

So, you admit that Arlen Specter would not be expected to acknowledge Jesus as Lord at Christmas or Easter, but it's OK for Bush to say that Islam is rooted in God's call to Abraham and that the Koran is Holy and is God's revealed Word at Ramadan.

Explain to me how this works...is Christianity a second-rate faith not deserving of the respect to be given to Islam? Or, is it just that Bush, being a Republican, is above even questioning no matter what he does?

President Bush is a born again Christian and, in my opinion, acts Christ-like in what he is trying to do in the office of President. (shock) He does not have to be a Baptist to go to Heaven. It won't be ANY denomination that meets us in Heaven; it will be Jesus Christ. 'Nuf said!
