I was pulled into the topical theme and idealizations of the article on SBC Leaders Dancing to Sweet Home Alabama at SBC, June '19 . . . so much so that I decided to ask the question about your personal view as a born-again child of God regarding the physical activity commonly known or referred to as "dancing?"

Please take the poll, and if you feel so inclined, share a thought or two, too!

Shalom!

Dancing, as far as I can tell, is not prohibited anywhere in the scripture. As with anything else, it could be abused and used in a sinful way.

The act of dancing, to me, falls within that area of Christian liberty where some may be convicted one way or the other. I can understand why some may be convicted that dancing is something a Christian should not do since much of it is lewd and crude these days. However, my problem is when people force their conviction on others when it is not a clear-cut prohibition in God's Word. Forcing your conviction on others in areas like this is true legalism.

No, but it's okay in a ballroom, auditorium, or music hall .

I've never read in scripture where it tells us not to dance. In fact I'm pretty sure David dance before the Lord. There is a vulgar way of dancing I don't advise it.
