Three types of people I don't trust:

1. A bald man that sells hair tonic
2. A Psychic that has a wreck on the way to work
3. A Faith Healer that wears glasses.

The whole sentence speaks of our spiritual status and not our physical well-being.

But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds.

And

1 Peter 2 -
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

No, we do not have a claim on total well-being and prosperity.

Show some scripture for back up Rev.....maybe you can make my point now.

Well it appeared as if you were questioning his statement in support of the charismatic position. Scarlett has posted the context of that passage. The error charismatics make is taking the word healing and trying to apply it to every context that fits their presupposition and charismatic agenda. It feeds their emotional based worship and makes a mockery of the intent of the passage.

Healing and Prosperity fall under...

Do we hvae a 'divine right" in name of jesus to claim that or not?

...His PERMISSIVE will and PERFECT will!

Regardless of which will; He decides to favor the believer with while in this life, nothing is more perfect than leaving here and going to be with Him...

Some will be prosperous here [many more will not], but we know in heaven we shall all prosper. If the streets are made of gold, and we have an eternal condominium, that must mean that poverty or even middle-class status like life itself, is temporary.

As for healing. Yes, God heals, out of both perfect will and permissive will. However, I say to you, the greatest form of HEALIN a believer will ever have is to die and join up with their PERFECT body in heaven. A place where illness, death and poverty no longer exist.

What happens; here is irrelevant. We can be healed [either under His permissive or perfect will], but we still will die. We may be highly affluent and well off, but, when we die, it can't go with us.

So nothing that happens in this life compares to what we GAIN when we pass from life to death to life eternal!

So as far as I am concerned, this discussion is inconsequential to the person planning on eternal life. It is more relelvant to the mortal being, though!

Do you ask questions sometimes BEFORE you show your cards as a teacher? Anyways, I was going to compare healing as it is intended. John 12:40 He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I should HEAL them. This is not talking about physical.....neather was Peter,John or Isaiah.

So you were on a witch hunt?

No, just seeing how the charasmatic baptists would support their positions that He does always want to heal and prosper us!

For they want to have the blessings of isreal under OT, yet none of the curses!
