Satan is an evil spirit and he was an angle. I know there a lot of angles that followed Satan. It seems only logical they would have to be evil as Satan is evil. Thus evil spirits. I believe evil spirits and demons are the same thing

actually, angels are messengers to us, (heirs of Salvation) Satan would not be one
I do not know the status of a cherub
