The fundamentalist culture that helped develop these schools during the mid-point of last century is no longer significant. Couple that with diminishing vision of what a Bible college stands for, there is little left to support these schools.

Some will continue, BBC in Missouri particularly, but this is another example of the shifting moves. Most have transitioned to "university" models as well.

Tennessee Temple has had some leadership issues over the past several years and that doesn't help in the current culture.

At least merging?

Note: Piedmont has merged w/ several small Bible colleges and has not really expanded much. They've actually grown smaller in many ways. Have no illusions, TTU is not being saved here.

The Bible colleges are dwindling rapidly.

It's sad for this '81 alumnus. 3 issues doomed it. 1) Lack of leadership after Dr. Roberson died; 2) Becoming affiliated with the SBC when its history was the independent ranks. So it lost its identity among independents without any connection with the SBC 3) Trying to get re-established with a church (which is and was a good church) with some financial issues of their own.

But I will remember those years there fondly.
