No. Tithing as a commandment is part of the law.
This is basically where I stand. Usually I try to give more than just a tithe, but that's just me. OTOH, I'm not going to condemn someone who believes differently about tithing. What I give is between God and me. Likewise, what someone else gives is between God and that person.I think tithing is a great practice and while it is not a law for us, it is a good guideline and I don't know of many who have done it and suffered unduly. We don't make very much but we do tithe.
Didn't Abraham tithe to Melchizadek? Before there was the law?

2 Questions related to tithing:
1. Is all of the tithe to go exclusively to one's local church (i.e., "storehouse tithing")?
2. Is the tithe computed only on one's salary or should it also include such things as profits made on investments (stocks, bonds, etc.) as well?
What think ye?

Interesting how people want to use Abraham to support a new testament tithe but do not make mention of Joses in Acts 4:36. If Abraham can be used to say we must give 10%, why isn't Joses used to to say we must give 100%??Didn't Abraham tithe to Melchizadek? Before there was the law?
Not according to Jesus in Mt 5:17-19, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.Hmmm...I didn't realize that the entire Old Testament had been done away with at the consecration of the New Covenant.
