Specifically to the Nation of Israel re: the Land:

Deut. 11:[11] But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

[12] A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Yes, they received all the land they were promised. And now Jesus has come and broken down the wall that separated Jews and Gentiles. Now we have the church that Jesus Christ promised to build.

And we have better promises than the Israelites received and that were fulfilled in the Old Testament. The promises now, to Jew and Gentile alike, is for eternal happiness, not a brief time on some parcel of land.

This thread is about the land, not about a spiritual condition.

Now that Replacement Theologians have applauded each other, can we move on to what the Bible says about the land?

Land doesn't matter, LE. What matters is spending eternity in Heaven with God and worshiping Him, not satisfying some materialistic desire.

We won't be spending eternity in heaven, Ken. We will live on earth in the New Earth in the New Jerusalem. Back to topic...

I will stand up for you, Lady Eagle. The land was promised to Israel and it will be given to them someday, sooner or later. That is one of the reasons that I think that the Gaza will self-destruct and the population will dwindle. I think that Israel should encourage the Bank Arabs to move to the Gaza and encourage the Gaza Arabs to move to Europe or the Arab League. I think that Israel was forced by Bush to close the Gaza salient, which was done because the US would not allow Israel to have a military victory in Gaza. Afterall, the intelligent thing to have done would have been to use the military to sweep the Gaza clear of weapons and secure the Jewish settlers there. The Europeans called for this policy of retreat in Gaza but they are too deadbeat to fund it so they think that they are clever for forcing us to spend our blood and our money in Iraq and our money in Gaza on their ideas for Israel. Someday, Israel will get tired of the Old World and ignore Europe even if they do buy things from Israel.

I agree we will be living on the New Earth but the New Jerusalem is the Church, the Bride of Jesus Christ.

    You are right, OR.

    Rev. 19:7 (ESV)
    Let us rejoice and exult
    and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
    and his Bride has made herself ready;

    Rev. 21:9 (ESV)
Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, "Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb."

It's symbolic language, LE. After all, it is in the book of Revelation which is a book of symbols. [IMG]

Agreed, there is symbolic language in Revelation, but in that particular passage, it is literal. [IMG]

Land is dirt. Dirt is only good for planting stuff. Carnal Christians make a big deal out of visiting Israel. If Jesus sweatted and urinated and did other things for 30 years then we all have molecules of his body incorporated into our bodies.

</font>[/QUOTE]Now the truth is out. You take literally that which you choose to support your theology and figuratively that which you choose to support your theology. And all this time I have been assured that dispensationalists are consistent literalists. Now I know what consistent means.
