Jamie Dimon says shutdown could reduce economic growth to zero this quarter if it continues

Jamie Dimon, the J.P. Morgan Chase CEO who has been bullish on the U.S. economy, said that the government shutdown could wipe out growth from the world's biggest economy.

"Someone estimated that if it goes on for the whole quarter, it can reduce growth to zero," Dimon told reporters on a media call to discuss fourth-quarter results. "We just have to deal with that. It's more of a political issue than anything else."

Schumer and Pelosi could end this in 15 minutes but refuse to.
Trump could have avoided starting it in the first place. Moreover, a government shutdown is not going to make Mexico pay for the wall.

It is the Trump shutdown, and he is proud to take credit for it.

Uh no, Schumer and Pelosi voted in the past for this. They are only voting against it because its Trump. And Yes Trump should stand his ground on this. Trump is right this is needed. Period.

And no wall could reduce the future to zero, but I am guessing that you are safe and sound behind strong walls like filthy rich Pelosi.

Of course shutdown could affect the GDP, considering government expenditures make up over a third of the GDP.

More than just that, they are trying to GHWB Trump. They want to repeat their success back in 1990 by forcing Trump to break his promise and then throw it back in his face. "You broke your promise to build a wall" is the new "you broke you promise to read your lips no new taxes!". But I think Trump knows all this.

It's a literal Mexican standoff now - they HAVE to hurt Trump, his spin the Mexico will pay for it through NAFTA is plausible, and the Democrats have everything to lose as well - they look like they are siding with illegal aliens over some of their own constituents - food stamp recipients, federal government employees, etc. - they will blink.
