Java install problem

I am having problems installing Java. Ever since the latest re-install of Windows XPsp3, when I try to install Java it only goes through part of the install process, then locks up. Cannot cancel or close the install window. "Contr-Alt-Del" will not stop it. I have to pull the plug and the battery.

Have re-downloaded the Java app installer. Checked the Sun website for help, to no avail.

Try using JavaRA to remove the old versions first.
