Jewish calendar

As I remember, it's from the creation of man.

Ah, here it is...

The 1st day of creation, on which G-d created existence, time, matter, darkness and light, was the 25th of Elul. (Rosh Hashanah, on which we mark "the beginning of Your works", is actually the 6th day of creation, on which the world attained attained the potential for the realization of its purpose, with the creation of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. Rosh Hashanah is therefore the day from which the Jewish calendar begins to count the years of history; the 1st day of creation thus occurred on the 25th of Elul of what is termed -1 from creation.
Parshah Bereishit (Genesis 1:1-6:8)

From 1290-1656 Jews were banned from England.
Bishop Uusher of Scotland in the 16th century (1501-1600)
published a history of the world. In it he
said that Adam was created in 4004 BC.
4004BC is 2005+4004-1 = 6008 years ago.
Had England been more tolerant of Jews, there would
have been a Jew nearby to ask the question of.

The Jewish year 5765AM began about 3 Oct 2005.

The Jewish year sure blows the 7,000 years of the
World theory to end soon. The 7,000 years
of the World says that the last 1,000 years will be
the promised Millennial Kingdom of Messiah Jesus.
Well according to Uusher of Scotland we are
8 years past the time when King Jesus should have
come back to rule over us.
