I'm glad they released her instead of killing her once they finally gave up on their bluff.

Yeah, they're real gems. Just ask her interpretor.

If that sarcasm is directed at me, then you have misinterpreted what I said.

Not at all. My sarcasm is directed at the media. I probably should have made that clear.

She's allright, and that's good. But the only crime her interpretor was executed for, was being able to translate. Two bullets in the head, and left on the road.

Can't wait until the media addresses that one.

I couldn't find that the article made any comments as to the virtues of her kidnappers. It says that she was treated well (which I believe) and also mentioners that her interpreter was killed.

I think they are murderers. But I am confused about your attitude towards "the media" as if they are praising the kidnappers.

It's been all over the news, today. Everywhere you look, you see her face. And it is truly great that she gets to live.

But where was the media when Nick Berg got his head sawed off ? Why is her translator's death given two sentences in the article ?

From what I heard from her this morning, you'd think she was at the Ritz-Carlton.

Somethings fishy about her whole ordeal. See what she's wearing hours after being freed.

Her whole story is fishy, IMO. What made her different from Nick Berg or her translator?

She had the support of all the bleeding heart liberals all over the world, unlike Nick Berg, & her translator.

Ha, ha. Hillclimber, you think she must be in cahoots because after being freed her first priority wasn't to change out of perfectly servable clothing into jeans and a T-shirt?

Conservatives are always so much more level-headed, which is why it's important to throw that phrase around at every opportunity.

CNN is reporting this morning (w/ video) that she was "heard slamming the United States and praising Iraqi insurgents in a video posted on an Islamist Web site". This, along with her contradictory statements, is very troubling.

Her father claims she was only saying what she had to in order to live, but she is claiming that her life was never threatened (of course that contradicts what she said in a earlier video where she was crying and saying something about her time was short). What is going on here? I have no clue. One "expert" CNN questioned claimed that Carroll had developed "Stockholm syndrome, a defense mechanism in which kidnap victims empathize with their captors".

Jill Carroll has now "disavowed" all statements she made earlier. Her statement, while still a hostage, was forced and her statement/interview (w/ an Iraqi political party)right after she was released was also forced. She is now admitting, what seemed clear, that she was threatened. So the concerns I had are now gone. This makes perfect sense. I am glad she is free.

Ha, ha. Look what she's wearing now that she's back on American soil - jeans and a T-shirt. And no hajeeb. <Chuckling to myself.>

And, she's angry and saying she wasn't treated well, after all, that she was threatened many times and was fearful for her life, even when she did the interview with the Iraqi government. Now the truth will come out about how she was treated, etc.

Yep, there's nothing like the good old earth of the US of A.

Baloney. This BHL thinks Nick Berg's execution was horrific and Carroll's translator's was tragic. As for all the other BHLs, how do you know what each and every one of them thinks? I sure don't.

How do you support a dead person? Mourn and pray. Revenge is for the living.

Do you consider Hamas to be Bleeding Heart Liberals? They also called for her release. Support for her was wide-spread - why not? What do you have against her?

I always thought Patty Hearst got a raw deal. Remember Steve Weed?
