Arizona Sen. John McCain, a war hero who survived five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, served three decades in Congress and went on to become the Republican Party’s nominee for president in 2008, died Saturday. He was 81 years old.

In his last hours, McCain turned down further treatment, his family announced in a statement.

A true American hero who suffered greatly in a North Vietnamese prison camp. Thank you for your military service Mr. McCain and may you rest in peace.

Yeah, I heard on the news yesterday that the treatments were being discontinued and it was just a matter of hours. I've always had mixed feelings about McCain and don't believe in speaking ill of the dead, but one thing you could say for sure was that he did have an amazing life and was a Christian, so he's in God's hands now. Sorry for the friends and the family but think he is in a much better place now.

I may have disagreed with some of his politics, but he was a genuine American hero. When his captors found out he was the son of the Commanding Admiral they told him he would be released early as a gesture of good will. He refused unless the prisoners were released in the order they were captured. By refusing he ended up serving 4.5 more years.

A good man.

I remember watching John McCain speak at the Senate hearings for Comey and thinking that something wasn't right. A friend of mine passed away from a glioblastoma multiforme leaving behind a young family. It is a terrible cancer that affects the young and the old with no conclusive associations other than radiation exposure. We have made a lot of progress on many cancers in the last few decades but GM is still one of those that deserve the sensation of dread when we get the diagnosis.

From my perspective, his life is one to be proud of. May God comfort his family and loved ones.

Let us invoke the "Billy Graham rule"
Nothing negative for 30 days.
Judas preached the Gospel and cast out demons, but his final act of treachery revealed his true loyalties, despised his office, and rendered his legacy to the realm of ignominy. No one speaks of the good Judas did while in the company of the Twelve.

So McCain, for leaving us in the chains of Obamacare, and for perpetuating Democrat lies to advance their assault on this administration . . . God removed him from office, and who am I to question His means?

Welcome Jon Kyl.

I agree. JM was also a treasonous person. He, along with HRC and Obama were instrumental in founding and funding ISIS.
You can see him buddying up with despicable folks quite often.

Don't forget that he was in on the dirty dossier used to try to undermine President Trump.

And remember that he was called "Songbird" for a reason because of his traitorous actions while in captivity.

John McCain was no hero in any sense of the word.

Not anger & contempt, simply a desire for justice. Or should we worship false gods because it’s the pc thing to do?

Not anger and contempt?

According to you guys McCain is a despicable, treacherous, lying, treasonous, traitor.
