John Phillips commentaries

    I am thinking about buying John Phillips commentaries. Some friends of mine highly recommend them. I was wondering if any of you could tell me about his commentaries. Are they worth getting or not? Just how good are they?

    I enjoy them and agree with most of what he has to say. With that said, he is from the same camp as I am, non calvinistic and dispensational as I am.

    Absolutely some of the best around!

    I got to hear him preach a few years ago, even more impressive in person.

    I am working on getting the complete set, one volume at at time.

    There are two reasons to reject these commentaries: All those years teaching at Moody Bible Institute, and they are dispensational.

    Better to stick with biblical commentaries and Baptistic books of repute.
