Teams that could probably beat Vanderbilt in football:

Any random high school football team, any random women's basketball team, the Arkansas AA State Champions in Football, the Arkansas AA State Lacrosse Champions, any random Girl Scout troop, etc. etc.

I say 3-8 or 2-9. There is no way this team can recover. They just lost to Vandy, and they're going to get POUNDED by USC. Good bye team morale!

 

Unless there is a quick turnaround - after being trounced by Southern Cal - I predict that Houston Nutt will not be the head coach next season and will be replaced by Butch Davis.

Before everyone puts down Vanderbilt too much, they defeated Wake Forest the previous and have a very good and experienced fifth year senior quarterback who could be the fifth quarterback chosen in next year's draft.

 

I feel like I just revisited my childhood. My dad was from Arkansas. Growing up, I only thought other schools had teams so they could play the Hogs.

Then again, Willingham had a great start his first season and then the team went downhill after that.

Wow, you mean Vandy beat that powerhouse of a football team in Wake Forest Well I say Vandy is headed to the Rose Bowl then with wins over Wake and Vandy.

Actually, I only mentioned that on my way to pointing out that Vandy has an NFL prospect at quarterback.

 

Vandy isn't the pushover they used to be. That being said if the Vandy fans get a team that goes .500, they would go nuts! Lets not even talk about getting into some bowl game!

I am an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, so I love SEC football. As a result, I never miss the Arkansas/Alabama game. The last few years they have been fantastic games, several of them coming down to the last minute and/or the last play.

Joseph, when I was in Arkansas a few months ago, I was in Fayetteville but ran out of time so I didn't get to see the stadium. Besides not getting to meet you for coffee, that was my other let-down on that trip.

But I did get to drive from Memphis to Little Rock and then down to Camden. Now that was beautiful. I saw a sign for El Dorado, but didn't get to stop in on Ken either!!

I thoroughly enjoyed that game, along with the Ohio State / Texas game!
