Judge rules Ohio homeless voters may list park benches as addresses

Third park bench south of the north entrance of City Park unless it's cold. Then it's the steam vent on the corner of North and Main. And, from time to time, it's the Salvation Army Shelter especially when it's raining.

It's not an address that's important. But, I think it is vital for the homeless person to be able to establish his or her legal identity through the presentation of a birth certificate, dd 214, ss card, driver's license, etc. Otherwise, the person should not be able to vote.

your kidding, do park benches even have addresses.
here you have to show a recent photo id, and have a current addressed listed. to be able to vote.

Not kidding.

OTOH this is another example of an anti-business ruling by a judge. It will hurt the real estate business in Ohio.

New York Democrats will no longer have to buy a home in Ohio to vote in both places. Any park bench or freeway overpass will do.

And in related news, over 350 armadillos were seen voting for Barack Obama at a post office outside Lubbock, Texas.

Judge rules Ohio homeless voters may list park benches as addresses

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren't buildings as their addresses.

Good! they have a choice in the voting booth just like you , your only problem your frineds on this board are voting for Baldwin even after you try to convince them otherwise, some salesman you are.

I saw a rock on the side of the road the other day, I wonder, can that be my new address?
Legally you have to have a real address and a current photo id to vote.

This is very irresponsible of that judge. What is stopping people from voting in every county under various homeless names and non permanent addressees? This ruling is almost begging for voter fraud to occur.

Apparently libs know no shame. This is the most ridiculous judgment I have ever seen. I am glad this is not so in Florida. We have to have photo ID with a legitimate address or you don't vote. Talk about an atmosphere of voter fraud. Ohio is full of it.

And we still have supposedly sane(?) folks who want to get more liberal control of the government!

I never could understand how Pharaoh was so stupid as to keep rejecting God as the plagues increased, but-----seems that delusion is not as uncommon as I would have believed.

Would you all deprive American citizens of their vote because they happen to be homeless? Some people living full time in $200K RVs have the same problem. There is a town in Texas where the people who use the RV park as an address outnumber the locals.

No one wants to deprive anyone of legitimately voting. But we need to protect the voting process which carries a greater weight than the homless inability to give an address or posses an ID

If someone wants to vote, they should be expected to follow the rules, obey the law, but this judge has rewritten the rules to accommodate those who do not want to obey the laws.
Does the postal service assign an address to a park bench? Does it have a legal address?if not, it is illegal to use it for the purposes of voting.

This is a good example of the kind of judge Obama will appoint.

Liberal activists who make law from the bench instead of administer it according to the Constitution.

only if it is in fact their real address.
Try this kind of thing for anyother thing besides voting and you'd be rejected. you can not apply for food stamps or welfare with no real address, just a park bench, you can not falsify your address for your drivers license, andprobably a lot of other things. Yet this judge has set a new, and illegal, presedence for allowing all kinds of fraud.
