This is an e-mail message from Beth Moore about hearing Kay Arthur speak and reveal prophecy. A worrisome message for sure. We should consider it carefully and prayerfully. This was re-published July 7, 2008, in the church newsletter of Valley View Church, Louisville, KY, and distributed. (By the way, Priscilla Shirer is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Tony Evans.)

Dear Ones,

O n June 27th and 28th I attended a conference in Atlanta called Deeper Still. I was one of three speakers – the others being Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer. I looked forward to a special time of worship and having God convict me of my sins and lead me to areas in my life where I need to change. I have been to similar conferences for years, although none this large and with so many well-known speakers. There were over 20,000 women in attendance at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta - they said it was the largest crowd ever.
I had an idea of what to expect from the conference, but nothing prepared me for what actually happened. I feel led to share my experience with family and friends. This is important, so stay with me!
When Kay Arthur took the stage you could just tell that her spirit was heavy and there was a certain 'heaviness' in the atmosphere even before she started to speak. She said that she had been literally physically sick to have to bring us this message and right out the gate she said, 'We are in grave danger.' She said that God had revealed to her that a literal famine is coming to America.. Physical, not spiritual. She said that God is moving in judgment against our nation. I know I can't describe this well enough, but the atmosphere was ominous. Kay is a seasoned speaker and she had to BATTLE to get through her message. She stumbled over scriptures and had an extremely difficult time. At times I was almos t expecting her to collapse. At one point she just had to stop and pray. There was no person, myself included, that I could see who did not have tears streaming down their faces. As you may know, Kay Arthur is normally a very confident, composed speaker, but she was literally in a spiritual battle and it was taking place right before my eyes. I have never seen anything like it. She went on to give 7 things that Christians must do during this time and I am going to give those to you now: 1. Return to God. Jeremiah 4:3 - Break up the fallow ground - return to Me. Repent. Get on your face before God and ask him to break your heart with the things that break His heart. 2. Mourn. Jeremiah 9:17-18 and Ezekiel 9 - It is time to weep because our nation's sin is incredible. 3. Pray. Jeremiah 36:7 - Pray fervently, passionately for America. 4. Love God's Word. Jeremiah 20 - You MUST love the Word of God and be in the Word of God. I was particularly convicted here because I know I have not been as deeply in His Word as I need to be. She said we must get serious about this. 5. Love others as Jesus loved them. Jeremiah 31:3 and John 6. Introduce people to Jesus Christ. It's time to get serious about this. This is no time for timidity. Jeremiah 31:31; Jeremiah 33:1-9, 15, 17. 7. Rest. If you will do these things, then rest in the fact that you have done God's will. She said that it is going to be vitally important for us to get enough physical rest. She went on to say that God has not given us a spirit of fear and that if we are obedient to Him, we will be protected. She said to read Ezekiel 14 over and over until you understand it. This is what God will do if a country turns against Him. She said that this is going to be a calamity (she used the word calamity in such a way that you knew this is going to be no small thing for our country), and gave many more scripture references, but what I have given you are the main points that she made.
I hope you know that I would not have sent this to you if I had not been profoundly affected by it and feel it is of great importance to share it. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you will do with this information what you feel led by God to do.Love in Christ Jesus,Beth

Be prepared for the negatives to fly!
I will not confirm OR deny such a prophesy, but I do not find it at all unlikely to be true.
I have felt for a long time that if we did not get back on track spiritually, the He would judge this nation just as surely as He did Israel so many times; I just had no inkling of the nature of this judgment.

A Kind Response from Kay Arthur about her teaching at the Deeper Still Event in Atlanta, Georgia
Published by Pastor Joel on July 23, 2008 08:01 am under Revival

Precept Ministries International has had numerous inquiries concerning Kay’s teaching at the Deeper Still Event in Atlanta several weeks ago. We would now like to take this opportunity to have Kay personally respond to the comments made about a famine in America. Here is Kay’s response below: My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I would like to clarify what I said about a famine at the Deeper Still Conference. I just finished listening to the CD of the message so I could know exactly what I said. I did not say that God had revealed to me that a literal famine is coming to America. Physical, not spiritual. Those words were not said, not indicated. I did not have a revelation from God rather I was simply saying what the Bible teaches. Let me repeat what I said in the context of famine as a judgment and the sale of rice by Wal-Mart… I said, America “is set for famine”. This was said in the light of the context of my reference to Ezekiel 14. In other words, we are inviting a famine because a famine is one of the judgments of the Lord on a nation that commits unfaithfulness (Ezekiel 14:12-20). I also mentioned that the sale of rice had been ‘rationed’ by Wal-Mart. And while I did not mention it, the price of wheat had gone up significantly. We are having crop failures because of the weather. As you can see there is a big difference between saying I had a revelation from God and what I actually said. Thank you all for your prayers for our nation.….press on, 2 Timothy 4:1-4 Kay Kay Arthur, Co-CEO Precept Ministries

I don't know how Beth Moore got pulled into this farce, but always check out your emails for the truth.

Like Beth Moore would write and send this out anyway. If it had happened, and Beth felt strongly enough, she would post to her website and that would be it. I hate these things. Who starts them?

I feel like a nut case...I am sorry!

Dear All,
Greetings in the Name of Jesus!
I discovered that the previous email that I sent was not exactly correct, nor written by Beth Moore, but was written by an attendee at the conference. I am so sorry. Below please find what Kay said. I was given by phone the website to see the response that was given to this email.

Kay’s open response to questions about a "Famine" in the US

Precept Ministries International has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the call to personal and national repentance Kay delivered at Deeper Still in Atlanta. However, we were forwarded an email that attributed “a revelation about famine” to Kay which was incorrect. Because Truth is paramount to all of us at Precept, we asked Kay to respond personally. Here is Kay’s response below:

Beloved of God,
I received a copy of an email from a precious woman who was so touched by the Lord through the message that she wanted to share it with others and call them to prayer for our nation. How I appreciate her listening heart and passion to live in obedience to the Word of God. However, one of her “quotes” of my message was not accurate and needs to be corrected. Her email said,
"She (referring to me) said that God had revealed to her that a literal famine is coming to America. Physical, not spiritual.”
http://www.precept.org/images/content/pagebuilder/21779.jpg Since I did not “have a revelation” and I am wary of such proclamations, I had LifeWay, the sponsors of Deeper Still, send me a CD of my message as I wanted to know exactly what I said. I said, “we (Americans) are set for famine.”

This was said in the context of my reference to Ezekiel 14. In other words, we are inviting a famine because famine is one of the Lord’s judgments on a nation that commits unfaithfulness (Ezekiel 14:12-20). I also mentioned that the sale of rice had recently been ‘rationed’ by Wal-Mart. (And while I did not mention it, the price of wheat had gone up significantly. We are having crop failures because of the weather and God is in charge of the weather. His sovereignty rules over all.)
As you can see there is a big difference between saying I had a revelation from God and what I actually said. I was simply teaching the Word.
I want to thank each and every one of you who want to know what I said and took the time to ask. Your desire for clarity and willingness to come directly to me means a great deal, especially in the light of my message on Truth. I do believe eventually this message (on Truth) will be made available by LifeWay. I will give it again in Las Vegas on the first Saturday of September. I desperately need your prayers that I will simply be His faithful teacher of His precious infallible Truth, the Word of God and fear only One, the One who alone is God.
The message I brought, although a hard one, is, I believe, greatly needed. The warfare in delivering it was terrific…but thanks to God who always causes us to triumph through His Son, the One who has overcome and sits at His right hand interceding for us…and waiting for His day! His strength is perfected in our weakness and I truly was weak.
Until then, may you and I prove ourselves “to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world holding fast the word of life…(Philippians 2:14-16)
Thank you all for your prayers for our nation. Repentance and righteousness are our only hope.
In His bonds of Calvary,

um, your picture of Beth makes it look like that quote is her quote, when in reality it is Kay's quote.

How's this for a negative comment : What a load of [vulgarity snipped]!

I had a revelation from God and what I actually said. I was simply teaching the Word.
Really? So where's the Scripture then that refers to AMERICA. I can't see it. It says ISRAEL.

And concerning those "seven things" Christians must do - that's also a load of [vulgarity snipped] too, because that isn't the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The Bible says - Repent and believe on Him and you will be saved.

She stumbled over scriptures and had a difficult time....
Sorry, but I can't believe that the Holy Spirit will make us "stumble over scripture" - He's there to help us and teach us, not snag us.

The false prophets and their false prophecies are a dime a dozen - just do an internet search and you'll even find their prophecies contradict one another. That's why the false church is called "Babylon" - because Babylon means "confusion" - and they serve to do nothing but confuse people with their nonsense. It's by time people started reading and believing the true prophets of the Bible.

And please, don't even try to convince me that this prophecy is true, because it isn't, and don't even think of telling me I'm ridiculing a true prophet of God here - because she clearly cannot stand when it comes to being tested against the Bible. I find it rather strange that all the prophets in the Bible are men - Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, etc, etc - funny there isn't ONE WOMAN amongst them, eh? I wonder why? (rhetorical question).

Kay Arthur didn't say any of it, she is not a false prophet, she does not deliver prophecy, she teachs people how to study the bible, not what to believe it says.

Goldie--not all prophets in the Bible are men. Women as prophets start in Genesis, with Deborah.
