RCC Kazakhstan Bishop Athanasius Schneider listed four causes of the clergy sexual abuse crisis for Life Site News website:

1. Homosexuality among the clergy.

2. Relativism of doctrine (from the time of the Second Vatican Council 1962-1965).

3. A lack of ascesis in seminaries.

Romans 13:14 (KJV) But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

4. Above all the absence of a deep and true love for Christ.

How any of these men could abuse a child and then in good conscience preside at the Lord's Supper is beyond my comprehension. I think the 4th reason is the most relevant and if it had existed most of this evilness would not have happened.
