I predict that everyone will declare a moral victory.

I think you are correct.

I wonder if the scenario that just played out over the past week was explained to Kim and her lawyer prior to her arrest? It seems as if it would be a predictable outcome.

"Here's what's going to happen. If you don't issue these licenses your deputies will issue marriage licenses to gay people. You will not be able to stop it from happening. If you want to keep your job you must promise not to interfere with the process of issuing these licenses. You will not be required to issue/sign these licenses, so your name won't be on them. Will you agree to this or do we have to arrest you?"

I predict that she will be one Democrat who will win in spite of the Republicans and maybe she will win a much higher state office--as far as I am concerned she can have Mitch McConnell's US Senate seat.

KY's Mitch McConnell is a loser in my book. Having been in the US Senate for over 30 years must do something to a person's brain I guess.

Back in 2010, McConnell did everything he could to oppose Rand Paul's bid for the US Senate seat from KY that was being vacated by the incumbent Jim Bunning.

One would almost think he was KY's democrat Attorney General Jack Conway's campaign manager since McConnell seemed to almost always say negative things about Rand Paul.

Although we have no way of knowing how Conway would have voted in the US Senate, according to The New American magazine's latest "Freedom Index" records, Rand Paul comes out more conservative than 22% higher than McConnell's voting record for Senate votes cast in its last session.

One of the "low lights" of his Senate career was his open support for granting the NSA increased power to monitor phone conversations by people that the Obama administration deemed were terrorists.

He also has been a champion for giving Obama unilateral authority to raise the US's debt ceiling.

Whenever the union fat-cat leaders wanted some legislation favorable to them passed in the US Senate, McConnell has been their go-to Senator to get that kind of legislation passed in the US Senate.

If Hillary Clinton would ever manage to get McConnell's US Senate set, I don't see things in the US Senate changing too much.

This is precisely what happened with Roy Moore in Alabama. He was removed for standing up to the government, but, come the next election, the people had so much respect for him and his principled stand, they elected him to a much higher office.

According to NBC's Nashville TV news reports, Kim Davis might just be sued by the folks that own the exclusive copyright for the "Survivor" music that was made famous in some of the "Rocky" movies.

It was this music that was played when Kim Davis strutted out from her jail to an adoring public that included Fox's Mike Huckabee.

It'll be interesting to see how this law suit will play out in court.

Re-read the part I quoted. How/why would Clinton get McConnell's Senate seat? It makes zero sense.

If you must know,I was merely replying to the post by [If I'm not mistaken it was by John Deere Fan....post #6.].

It seems that J.D.F. isn't exactly KY's US Senator Mitch McConnell's Number One fan--and for good reason. Seems old Mitch would rather spend time with our current Democrat POTUS than work on the budget that our socialist commander-in-chief has sent to the other end of PA Ave.

If the past is any prediction of the future, then I predict that there will not be any really substantial changes. Moreover, since Congress has a deadline of the end of this month (That's when the federal government ends its current fiscal year.), I don't believe that they'll do much to fund much of our nation's transportation infrastructure--namely our crumbling Interstate highway system.

OTOH, I could be surprised....namely if the Congress in its budgetary deliberation actually votes to completely de-fund Planned Parenthood--the single most organization that's guilty of not only killing our nation's babies, but also selling their body parts to the highest bidder.

As far as Hillary actually getting KY's Mitch McConnell's US Senate seat, that's probably not going to happen. OTOH, Hillary did win a US Senate seat in NY state prior to her being appointed Secretary of State by our current POTUS.

And just what exactly qualified her to be a US Senator? My guess--and it's only a guess--is that Obama wanted her to be a US Senator to lure her away from any future runs for POTUS. If that was his intentions, he certainly failed at it.

However, since Hillary's poll numbers are on the decline in the NH polls (NH being the first presidential primary election) as well as in IA (where the first presidential caucus is held, Hillary may not wind up as strongly as many political pundits predicted she would.

Anyway, that's why I posted what I did, okay Bro. I.T.L.? :wavey:
