I do. Although I've read many other versions in my lifetime.

My church uses the KJV, and it makes it a lot easier to follow along, when the words are the same.

 

I don't. I only have it on my computer. I do like it, but there are other versions that do the job. My church allows it, or the NKJV to be used in the service.

I use the KJV almost exclusively in any Bible presentation and teaching because It is a translation of the Received Text (Textus Receptus).

The NKJV seems to be missing something but I'm not sure what .

I use Logos and BibleWorks for teaching tools and call up several MVs to compare the various translations but only to see a modernization of the KJV words and legitimate differences in nuance.

I also include the Scrivener Greek and Masora Hebrew in the viewing window.

But the KJV is at the top of the list.

NKJV I don't know what it is. Like its trying to be the KJV but just doesn't make it there.

Actually, I would really like to see a special edition of the NIV based upon the TR.

I know I already answered this thread, but what you said about the Textus Receptus is the real reason why I use the KJV. I was chastised for my mentioning it sometime ago, and so I was reluctant to mention it again.

All of the Bibles in our household are KJV. I have tried to read other versions (just to compare) and well.....it just felt like putting on a shoe that didn't fit. It just didn't feel right. I am happy with my KJV, especially since doing some reading on the subject of bible versions. I have peace about the Bible I read.

I am, by no means, part of the Ruckman school of thought. He's rather "out there" IMHO. I don't have a problem with anyone else using another version. I believe they can be saved by reading almost any version out there.

 

I have always been in "only KJV" churches but never "KJV only". I am not opposed to being in a church that uses the NASB or NKJV but these options have not been available so far.

All of my memorization has been from the KJV as well as lessons I have prepared and given. We use the KJV for family devotions as well.

I use the NKJV for study, family devotions, and sometimes witnessing.

I use the NASB for study and occasionally family devotions.

 

I use the KJV exclusively at home for family altar, for personal Bible study, and to preach and teach from.

I do have copies of some MV's that I may reference like I would a Bible commentary. I use the NKJV more than any other MV for reference.

 

I use mainly the KJV. Everything else seems like the Cliff Notes Version.

 

Started with niv, went to nasb now I only use the AV.
I REALLY hope that this forum is a success, I believe that this can be a blessing to all including our brothers and sisters on the left.

 

We use the KJB exclusively for everything. We do have a lot of the MV's, but the dust is so thick on them that no one will move them!

When I first was saved, the church that we were going to, used the NIV and other MV's. When we studied God's Word, for the most part, everyone was reading different word's and even some were missing verses, with the addition of notes at the bottom of the page.

I had prayed about which Bible to purchase, for my first Bible, and it was impressed upon me to buy a King James Bible.

After I bought my first KJB, I was curious why there were so many different Bibles out there, and why they said different things in different places. After studing the differences, we found out why the KJB was the best choice.

Our children won't even pick up and read or study from a MV, and don't even have a desire to see what they are about.

We also use the KJB to teach our children reading, and along with that, we also teach our children Greek.

But as for me and my family, we will read and study the KJB!

 

KJVO here! (Though not opposed to NKJV).

Me too. I am blessed to have been called to an IFB church that is KJVO, but not militant about it.(We don't have entire sermons blasting other versions)

 

I primarily use the English Standard Version and the NA 27 Greek Text. I don't know Hebrew yet. For my cover to cover Bible reading this year I decided to read the NRSV just to see if it would throw me into liberalsim and start denying all the foundations of our faith. I am Ezekiel away from being finished and it hasn't happened yet. I think the KJV is a wonderful and excellent translation and I am happy to see it used so much. As for me, it didn't make much sense to me when I was a kid and I didn't even put my trust in Jesus until
I switched to the NIV so I could understand what I was reading. I find that I can understand it now (if I concentrate and use a dictionary with 19th century words) but I see no point since the NKJV says the same thing (but in my own english) for the TR and the ESV for the critical and frankly I don't find the textual basis and huge concern in terms of my actual obedience to Jesus Christ.

 

KJV all the way!! It's the only one our church will have. But if others prefer other versions, that's their choice.
I have had other versions, something about them just don't cut it with me.
