This is not a debate for/against KJVO

    Are most IFB churches KJVO?

No IFB churches in Japan are KJO--or in Korea, or in China, or Mexico, or in any other country that doesn't speak English as their first language! :tongue3:

No. Some are "majority text," some use the AV out of tradition and respect, some use modern versions, and most think that the KJVOs are on the wrong track.

In the common usage of the term the answer would be no.

Funny thing, there is a very small number of BVO (Bungoyaku Version, the Classical Bible) people in Japan. But the Classical Bible is translated in the NT from a modern Greek text, not the TR/majority. go figure!

I agree with Roger--and Roger and I as missionaries have each on deputation/furlough been in more IFB churches than any of ya'll, I suppose! A little respect here for our views, please.

There are a small minority of hardcore KJVO churches, a large majority of KJV preferred, and a small minority of churches that use another version (mostly BJU types, in my experience).

No, as C4K has defined the term.

Can you sing that to the Mickey Mouse Club theme? :applause::applause::applause::applause:

JoJ: BJU? I thought they were KJVO or KJVP.

Actually, I was not making fun of you at, all. I was merely asking a question abbreviating everything, since I don't consider that I know what they all stand for from someone who apparently does know this.

WDTMESIDK? merely stands for "What Does That Mean Especially Since I Don't Know?"

SSETM! or Seems Simple Enough To Me!

Maybe. But I've ministered in a total of about eighty churches, in addition to the ones I've run into in the course of normal life.

Whenever I can get a missionary cornered, I hit him up for "deputation horror stories." It's gotta be better than Stephen King (although I've never read Stephen King). I mention it because, in addition to the churces y'all visit, I know there are all those others who send you questionaires about where you stand on the AV issue, what your wife wears to sleep in, etc. So you also know about those churches, even though, thank God, you haven't been to them.

Actually, I did, but could not be assured of exactly what 'P' stood for. Further, I guessed that maybe some others may not decipher all the initials in your acronym, which one needed to understand, for information. It made no difference, IMO, as to whether or not they could decipher mine. Hence my attempt was to draw attention through humor.
