Iraqi government forces and the Tehran-backed Popular Mobilisation launched a surprise offensive on Oct. 16 in retaliation to the Sept. 25 independence referendum organized by the KRG.
The offensive aims to capture disputed territories, claimed by both the KRG and the Iraqi central government, as well as border crossings and oil facilities. MMM so That just happened does it mean anything to a person that has no Idea about bible prophecy???>>> nothing at all but for a person that understand bible prophecy rolls 100 %>>this is big and has all to do with I13! It looks like the Rapture can happen any day, but we don’t know when. There appears to be a gap between the Rapture and the Tribulation period, but we don’t know how long that gap is. Much work can be done in a short period of time.
Rebuilt Babylon doesn’t have to be a big city like New York (and the Bible calls it a city not a nation). Ancient Babylon was just 14 miles on each side and much of that was farm land. Some think global trade can be controlled from just a few buildings with super-computers. Also, the False Prophet won’t need a lot of buildings. Whatever is there will burn in one hour.

Just know that the Kurds (Medes) will destroy the city of Babylon at the end of the Tribulation period and they are rising now.

I was not intending to say they weren't, I Was just wondering if their is any proof? My cousin's Turkish wife is from one of the Christian minorities. When the elder of my daughter's previous church met the wife he said "You didn't tell me your cousin was a Kurd." The elder is a Turkish Cypriot. My cousin's wife said the Turks called them Assyrians, but they called themselves Syriac. So probably she is not a Kurd. Presumably the Kurds have their own language? Most minorities throughout the world have, My cousin said her people have a language but they are not allowed to use it by the Turks.

My nephew worked as a missionary in a N Africa He did a number of trips across the Sahara and on one visit he met a group that have a language nut no written literature. They have a written language but due to persecution it is only written in the sand and then erased.

If the Kurds are descended from the Medes and they have a language presumably it could be compared to the Median language.

Some Kurds claim the Medes as ancestors. Some don't.

Identification of the Kurds as descendants of the Medes appears to be primarily a late affectation to bolster the Kurds' efforts to gain autonomy or independence from their respective nation states.

While philologists classify Kurdish and Median languages as relatives, it is really very difficult to establish any direct connection from the paucity of evidence of written Median. What is more safe to say is that the Kurdish language is one of several related languages that include the Azeri, Median and Baluchi, all of which are Indo-European languages under the Persian umbrella.

It is also difficult to distinguish between language and ethnicity. Italy has many ethnic groups (Neapolitans and Milanese have different ethnicities, but they both speak Italian, and China has many languages and ethnic groups, but most consider themselves Chinese; for example 60 million people in China speak Cantonese but do not consider themselves less Chinese because because of it. And millions upon millions of Americans speak languages other than their "ethnic" heritage would dictate. In my part of the world, almost every Comanche, Kiowa and Apache speakers English and only a small percentage know more than a smattering of their native languages, but every one of them knows their heritage and many preserve ancient traditions.

That's not even to mention the Celts, which seem to have no common ethnic linkage or even universal linguistic tradition yet have in modern times forged an identity often at odds with history.

And it seems that the Kurds, who speak an Indo-European language, may be close ethnic relatives of the Jews, who speak a Semitic language (or a hybrid, considering the prevalence of Yiddish, a conflation of German and Hebrew).

So, it's possible the Kurds are descendants of the Medes, but it's also possible they are an ethnic group that settled in the same area as the Medes and took their language (and may be ethnically separated) from the Medes, or they predated the Medes. But to insist they are the modern Medes goes far beyond the evidence.

Celtic languages that I know are all similar, Irish Gaelic, Scots Gaelic, Briton, Welsh and Cornish. I used to work in an office where some awkward customers used to write to us in Welsh and when the Welsh speaking lady was away, an Irish Lady used to translate them for as, as best as she was able.

Luxembourg has its own language and is spoken by most natives although the official language is French. Luxembourg in Luxemburgish is Letzeberg. The language is also spoken in parts of Belgium, France and Germany.

The Lady who understood Irish was actually Canadian not sure how she came to know Irish.

Cornish hasn't exactly died out. Breton is similar to Welsh. When my wife was studying in Paris she went to a Breton festival. She said they had bagpipes but I have never heard that the Welsh do. She has a Breton hymn sheet from there she is looking for it at the moment.

I have a friend who is Irish brought up in a Catholic orphanage where the only languages were Latin and Gaelic.

He used to be in a Male Voice Praise Choir. who were visiting a hospital. There was a man who the staff thought was speaking gibberish after a stroke. He said "That is not Gibberish it's Gaelic" "Speak English Sean" Sean thought he was speaking English. Sadly friend John has now got dementia and doesn't recognise anybody.

My friend John, said that the Irish that is taught in universities today is a manufactured language and not natural Gaelic.

I'm sure that's right. It is Welsh that is the living language, much to the irritation of the vast majority of people living in Cardiff, who don't speak it.

That is correct Welsh is mainly spoken in the north and one of my friends who was married to a Welsh girl said in the the north their are people who don't speak English. One the other hand I worked with someone from Anglesey and commented on a chequebook printed in Welsh and asked him if he had one, He said "I'd send it back if I received one,"

Just a guess but could the Angle bit be the clue there?
