Not sure if this is quite the right area to post this, but on Larry King Live:

    Tuesday, March 11

Our religious panel debates the morality of war and discusses keeping faith in uncertain times. Larry is joined by conservative Christian leader Dr. Bob Jones, president of Bob Jones University; author Max Lucado; Father Michael Manning, host of "Word in the World"; John MacArthur, pastor at the Grace Community Church; and Bishop Melvin Talbert, Ecumenical Officer of the United Methodist Church.

    Should be an interesting show.

After everyone airs their Bob Jones insults, maybe we can discuss what they talked about.

If my memory serves me right last time Mr. Jones was on Larry King he didn't do that bad of a job. I'm watching it for MacArthur.

I thought he did a great job. But right here on this very message board, I have seen brutal insults hurled his way, without one comment on what he said. That's what I meant.

I won't be able to watch, my band is playing tonight at the Chuck and John's coffee house in Sturbridge, Mass. (Shameless Plug ;) ), but I plan on seeing the highlights on Fox News.

Thanks for the tip. I plan to watch it. Does this mean that CNN will top FOXNews in the ratings tonite?

I was impressed. I liekd how John MacArthur stood up to that Methodist Ecumenical guy. Too bad that couldn't have continued. One caller made that shot about Hitler never being excommunicated which the preist never did seem to pick up on. I have more respect for Bob Jones and think Max Lucado did a good job. It was a well rounded Panel Jones at one end going to the Methodist at the other.

What can I say, I'm in agreement and have been with MacArthur.

Pretty good show. Too bad Larry King is the host, though. He's a little out of his element and does not have the knowledge to ask insightful questions. A couple of questions were so vague that I don't think the panelists were sure what he was asking.

I thought the strongest point was made by Lucado and echoed by the other two; there is a difference in the biblical instruction to an individual as to how to respond when attacked and the biblical allowance for war to be waged when a nation is attacked. That got to the heart of the error of the arguments for passivity that liberals make. I'm glad that there are some fundys and conservative evangelicals who are going out into the marketplace and engaging the arguments of the liberals. The darkness cannot overcome the light.

Out of the five, John, Max and BJ III knew what they were talking about. The other two seemed clueless. Oh, yes, contrary to the CNN ID title, BJ III is not the founder of Bob Jones University. BJU was founded by his grandfather, Dr. Bob, Sr. c. 1925.
