Last night the lastest Tech Republic's Daily Digest arrived in my email - This one had a couple of things I thought you might be interested in.

    1. Top 8 Trends for 2008 This is on the heels of the Vista discussion. One of the trends is that businesses will still NOT use Vista.

    2. Creating complex passwords that are easy to remember Someone taught me a similar strategy years ago that I've been using. You've got to scroll down a bit to get to the actual instructions.

Will check the articles out - of interest - have been looking for an email tech toy sheet to subscribe to. Morning news has "Tech Bits" that does a very short story on the new stuff but always a bit of a tease.

My wife works for the state and they are taking Vista off the new computers coming in. They have no plans to move away from XP. They have a ton of their own software that I'm sure will not work with Vista (Have enough problems making it work with XP :)

Hummmm, click on "get a free membership" to register and you get an ERROR page, click on the email customer service on the errror page and get a help page with a tab to send questions. Click on the tab and you can only send questions if you are a registered member :tonofbricks:AHHHH the tech world works well doesn't it

Here is their home page, see if you can get in that way. They have tons of goodies. I always get something from the digest to use.

That was where I was, it is working now - thanks - I wondered about the double .com so tried it both ways. Wonder what the double .com is all about, are they that much better than the rest of us

If it were print media (magazine, for example), the title "TechRepublic.com" would be all techy and catchy.

But unfortunately, that means that you have to register the title with a .com after the end of your title, which makes it look redundant and detracts from the techy-ness....

Leet speak makes for great passwords. One I use at work is a variation of my name... tr0tt3r with some extra tacked on the end. If you are unfamiliar with leet speak, check here - Leet.

Your teenager would get it, but most people woudn't have a clue.

    l<iLL3r 4 $vr3 3l-l ?
