This is America, so these groups and Hispanic individuals have the right to protest Trump's SNL appearance ..... but, I'd say to them, there are other channels and shows to watch, so exercise you right to choose by choosing not to watch that particular episode of SNL.

WHAT ARE YOU THOUGHTS ON THIS DEMAND BY LATINOS?

Many say that the GOP will lose at least 3/4s of the Hispanic votes and that probably is true no matter who is nominated. Hispanics prefer "papa government" or the big government provided by the Democrats; also, Hispanics, as you know, are Roman Catholics and Roman Catholics have been predominately Democrats since before the Civil War.

Democrats want to control what can be seen on TV I guess but I agree, Righteous Dude, with your suggestion that Democrats just change the channel like everybody else in the USA with hundreds of channels.

Hispanics are essentially liberals. Much of Latin America has bad news these days for people who love Liberty. For example, Cubans are fighting for Assad in Syria at this moment, calling to mind what the Cubans did to Ethiopia a couple of decades ago.

In response to what they view as deceptive media propaganda portraying all Hispanics as supporters of amnesty, illegal immigration, the welfare state, big government, and other causes, two liberty-minded leaders with Latin American ancestry launched Conservative Hispanics of America to fight back. In an exclusive interview with The New American, CHOA founder Andy Ramirez explained why such an organization is needed and what the future might hold for the budding alliance.

While the group will focus on a variety of different projects, the primary goal will be to educate the public and policymakers about the concerns of conservative American Hispanics. According to Ramirez, there is a real absence of liberty-minded Hispanics in the public arena, and that needs to change — especially because leftist and collectivist groups purporting to speak for all Hispanics currently dominate the limelight in terms of press coverage and lawmakers’ attention.

“There is another viewpoint among Hispanics, and CHOA represents that, for not only do we oppose amnesty and illegal immigration, we speak openly about the corruption that takes place south of our borders, something the other side has yet to begin to address,” Ramirez said. “This is something we have spoken out against all along.”

Let's lump all the Hispanics together and forget what Washington DC and it's corporate partners have been doing to Latin America and MENA for decades.

Same thing I say when Christians are called to boycott some movie or TV show--the act of protesting the artistic production draws publicity to the event. People that would never have heard about this sort of thing have now heard about it. I had no idea Trump was going to host SNL. I won't watch but the publicity has reached me.

Latinos are free to do whatever they wish to put forth their political and/or personal messages as guaranteed by the First Amendment.

If they want to protest that is fine, but he has as much right to be on SNL as anyone else. I believe Hilary Clinton was on there not to long ago.
Exactly. Hispanics are overwhelming Democrats anyway.

Many are against the USA in Latin America and the Cubans went to fight for Assad in Syria.

There is a possibility that Trump's appearance on SNL could be used by other Republican candidates to demand equal time under the equal opportunity clause of FCC law.

If any licensee shall permit any person who is a legally qualified candidate for any public office to use a broadcasting station, he shall afford equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office in the use of such broadcasting station

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/47/315

So, if Trump is on SNL for 4 minutes, then Carson, Bush, Kasich, Cruz, etc. could all demand equal time, UNLESS Saturday Night Live is deemed to be a bona fide news station. (I'd say it isn't)

Appearance by a legally qualified candidate on any—
(1) bona fide newscast,

(2) bona fide news interview,

(3) bona fide news documentary (if the appearance of the candidate is incidental to the presentation of the subject or subjects covered by the news documentary), or

(4) on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events (including but not limited to political conventions and activities incidental thereto),

shall not be deemed to be use of a broadcasting station within the meaning of this subsection.

Donald Trump's 'SNL' hosting gig prompts NBC talks with GOP candidates for equal time

Negotiations are underway as NBC is looking to grant an Equal Time request in local markets made by Republican candidates following Donald Trump’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on November 7.

An insider with one of the campaigns told TheWrap details over the final deal are still being worked out with NBC.

In order to honor the request affiliates would need to provide candidates who filed a request 12 minutes and five seconds of airtime.

Former New York Gov. George Pataki sent a request to 16 NBC affiliates, including stations in New England, South Carolina, Iowa and his home state of New York. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham filed a request to NBC affiliates in Iowa, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich has asked for airtime in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee also filed an equal time request at WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa and former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore’s campaign filed at least one request with an NBC affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina.
