Dome of the Rock as you know is the Jewish Temple Mount. The First-Lady visited the Jewish Wailing Wall and also the Islamic Mosque. In what order she visited these places is unclear and I would think might be viewed symbolically as bringing one side to the other. Yet, she was received not so well at either location.

This is NOT about politics or about hatred for Bush as a couple of posters here have suggested on another thread, but it is about the wife of a man who has played up his Christianity and his being led by God. Thus, it is questionable that his wife the First-Lady would remove her shoes and enter the Islamic mosque on the Temple Mount to demonstrate peace toward murderers of innocent Israelis. I find that detestable and a strike against our Christian roots as Islam is the spawn of Satan while Judaism is the root from which was spawned Christianity.

    SOURCE

Pandering to the murderous Muslims is no way to win Jewish sentiment and may even set up our own government for judgement.

This was a no-winner for her. She should have stayed home. The Islamofacists don't want peace. I'm very disappointed in her.

She did place a prayer in the wailing wall as is the custom of many Jewish people, I wonder what was on that prayer, yet likely she will keep it between herself and God.

Me, too. BillyMac, you are right on in your post. Appeasing the terrorists never works and that is basically what the Road Map and promise of a Palestinian State did - appease those who have murdered innocent men, women, and children. Their blood will be upon our hands via the Road Map policy. The Bush Administration has had a double policy re: the war on terror. It's okay for us to go after terrorists, but Israel must appease. It's sick, IMHO.

However, the majority of Moslems are not facists.

As the wife of a head of state, Mrs. Bush is required to follow protocol. The purpose of her tour is to improve the lot of women, particularly in Moslem countries, particularly in Saudi Arabia. Either she had to stay out of the mosque, which would have been snubbing the Moslems, or leave her shoes on and desecrate a holy site of millions of the very people she wishes to influence.

She did the right thing by taking off her shoes and showing simple respect. It's not like she got out her prayer mat and bowed to Allah.

I hate to say this, Daisy, but I'm starting to distrust ALL Muslims. Even my friends. I'm thinking they have hopeless lives, 'cuz they follow a hopeless faith. And the actions of Mrs. Bush hurt our mission of spreading the one true gospel.

I'm a Christian first, a father second, American third.

While obviously not the spawn of Satan, Judaism since the cross and the preaching of the gospel denies Christ Jesus, as does Islam. Therefore, I find it to be somewhat hypocritical to denounce Laura Bush for honoring Islam while not denouncing her for honoring Judaism. One should either denounce her for honoring both or not denounce her at all.

Actually, it doesn't. Most Palestinians are not terrorists. They should have a chance at their own State in the 21st century.

Therefore, I support the premise of the Road Map. The details of implementing it will have to be worked out between the representatives of the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Except the Bible says that one day ALL of the Nation of Israel will acknowledge the one true G_d in Zion and be saved through Jesus Christ - Romans Chapter 11.

The Palestinians will never have a state, IMO. In fact, a lot of things in Israeli government will probably change if and when the Sanhedrin come back into power, which is in the planning stages now. Time will tell...

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=70349

And, I don't share your belief that most Palestinians are not terrorists. The majority of them are Muslim and they have been indoctrinated for several generations through their mosques and television and educational system about driving Jews into the sea.

Of course, I don't expect you to take my word for it so the readers of this thread can make up their own minds by going to this link:

    http://www.pmw.org.il/

Mrs. Bush was spurned at the unholy mosque and got the opportunity to see Islamic hatred first hand, up close and personal, instead of relying on what she has been "told" about the "religion of peace" by others.

Maybe before we both die and put aside our theological and political differences in Heaven, we will know which of us is correct.

By the way, you never gave me a straight answer to my PM to you.

Nice photo. I saw a picture of her with the wife of Israeli President Gila Katsav wearing that.

A brief glimpse of the history of the Temple Mount, aka Moriah - now occupied by the Dome of the Rock.

Inside the Dome of the Rock is a large, flat rock, the size of a room, where it is believed Abraham had placed Isaac for the sacrifice (Moriah). Muslims have changed the truth of the Bible to say that it was Ishmael who was to be sacrificed, not Isaac.

Isaac goes out to the field to pray before meeting Rebekah for the first time, he is at Mount Moriah.

Jacob's dream of the ladder to heaven took place on Mount Moriah, according to some sources. (I did not verify this one with Scripture or that it is the same as Bethel - perhaps someone knows for sure, if so - please post, thanks.)

This spot is the scene of the story of Ruth and Boaz - the threshing floor.

Fast forward: King David erects an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, same spot, Moriah.

Solomon's temple is built there on that spot. It stands for approximately 374 years.

The second temple was built that was in existence at the time of Jesus Christ and stood until destroyed in 70 A.D. It was there approximately 584 years.

    http://www.templemount.org/solomon.html

The present Dome of the Rock was built by the Muslim ruler Abd el-Malik in 688-691.

Jewish antiquities have been destroyed by the present occupants, according to numerous articles on the Internet. Here are a couple:

    http://www.har-habayt.org/nypost22-04-01.html and

    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Peace/christianpal.html

Interestingly, the Mount of Olives which will be split in two at the return of Jesus Christ, overlooks this very spot.

Passing this info along for those who might not know of the Biblical historical significance of this particular piece of real estate. [IMG]

Mohammed famous nightly journey into Heaven supposedly also started on the same spot.
Than there is the legend that the stone is the first one created by God when he created the stones on earth.
It's very much a candidate for the title of 'holiest' spot on earth.

I'll take my shoes off for noone but Jesus!

I'll worship nowhere but at Jesus' feet!

If I were First Lady---if I had to take my shoes off before going in----well, I just wouldn't go in!

Besides the Temple Mount being rich in Biblical, Jewish, and Christian history, we can see that any Islamic claims to the Temple Mount are illegitimate, at best.

"I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of Hosts will be called the Holy Mountain." (Zechariah 8:3)

It is still God's mountain and it is from here, the center of the earth, that Jesus will literally sit on the throne of David, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and will rule and reign with a rod of iron. It is God's mountain and He still owns it, no matter what the followers of Mohammed say. Amen!

Very true, Kiffen. There is no benefit to the
American people for us to be involved in the twisted, hate-filled politics of the middle east.

Sadly, most voters don't seem to agree.
