Looks like Nissan motors is suing Nissan computer systems for trademark infringement. This is nothing new and Nissan motors will probably win, even though the man's name is Nissan. I saw McDonald's step all over a local attorney for using McDonald's Lawfirm on his business card. They won. The guy can't use his last name without his first name attached.

Lawsuits depend strictly on who has the money for staying power. ....has NOTHING to do with reality---and everything to do with enough corporate funds to keep feeding the lawyers.

90% of all lawsuits never make it to court.

See John Travolta's movie called Class-Action. It is probably the most accurate inside view of a real lawsuit that there is.

No, but I would imagine that Mr. Nissan will lose regardless of the outcome. His resources will be exhausted long before Nissan Motor Company's resources.

Nope, that is the one real problem of an uncontrolled tort system. In most countries, there are far more controls on the tort system than the USA.

In Japan, they have a real neat system. They simply limit the number of law school graduates that can pass the bar exam each year. You may be a grad of the best law school in Japan, make over 90% and still fail. I taught English to a guy like that once. Not a bad idea, eh? Limit the lawyers.... [IMG]
