    Ken,
I read the article to the very end. Written by a criminal defense attorney who sounded vaguely like he was being grateful for the success that meth has brought to his career. There is no arguement there, it was more a meandering of the writer's mind. Kind of like the pathetic losers who would support such irresponsible things such as legalization of something so horrid. The only saving grace of this drug is that it brings death in as little as a year under constant use. If you want a country full of citizens with swiss cheese brains, then I guess you could be their president. I will keep you in my prayers that you find your way back into the light.

I will give Ken a chance to respond and then this thread will be closed. The last thread on this topic lasted for 10 pages and is really pressing the appropriateness level, considering Posting Rule #2:

Sometimes jail is the only thing that wakes these people up.

Puting all dopers in one place and give them all the dope they want until they overdose would save billions.

Thank you but I am in the light.

It is you who is in the dark on this issue from the perspective of how much power and control the government should have over our lives.

No, I am not out of my mind.

I will continue to advocate for a proper limited government role on this board, elsewhere on the Internet, and elsewhere in my life for as long as God grants me time on this earth with my ability to reason intact.

The only way I will be stopped from advocating limited, constitutional government on a variety of public policy issues on this board is if I choose not to post or I am banned.

I hardly think KenH is condoning vice.

I think marijuana should be legalized, but I'm really unsure about most of the other drugs. I should probably put some more thought into it. It's simplistic to say that it should be illegal simply because it's wrong. Adultery is wrong, are we condoning adultery if we say that there should not be a law against it? I hardly think so.

Thank you, Petrel. I don't why people think that unless one is in favor of a law criminalizing an activity that one is in favor of actually participating in that activity. The debate is over the proper role of government in the United States regardless of the subject being discussed.

Personally, I am against tattoos but I have no desire to see the government ban the wearing of tattoos, because I understand that if I try to use the power of the government to ban activities that I don't like then I have no grounds to argue with another person who may want to use the power of government to ban activities that I do like. We cannot pick and choose which individual rights to defend when the constitutional rights of others are not being interfered with by a person's activity - whether we approve of his activity or not.
