Let's HANG Mel Gibson!

I have a better idea. Let us Hang Mel Gibson for bucking the Hollywood crowd and making a movie about Christ that was politically incorrect.

He is guilty of using the faith he grew up in. He is guilty for using the principles of the priest who took care of him as a child, etc. etc.

If he can't stick to making movies about gangsters killing each other and monsters from outer space --- How dare him try to make a movie about his Christ?

After all, he is the anti-christ, isn't he? That's what I hear, or at least the movie is the pre-cursor.

I think maybe we ought to beat him like he showed Christ in his movie---before we hang him like Judas and we should also film it and put it on the movies FOR FREE!!!!!!

There is no sliding scale of righteousness in the Kingdom of God. Emotional pleas will not change that. The movie is not acccurate scripturally or historically for that matter. He has cashed in on the obvious lack of Biblical knowledge and discernment of the evangelicals and even Baptists, so he will surely make a sequel. The idea of "If it is better than terminator, and it preaches a "kind" of Jesus, then it is ok" concept is not really accceptable. At least not to me........

What are you going to say when you are at work (assuming you are not a pastor, I dunno what you do.) and your athiest friend said: I saw that Mel Gibson movie last week and "boy did they beat on that Jesus". What do you think about that?

Hang onto biblical accuracy. Hang out with genuine Christians who know scriptural truth from bogus masochistic mystical delusions and psychotic visions disgracing the true Christ of the Gospels.

Pray for him and those who praise him for his violence-lovers film...that rejects Christ's Resurrection and glorious Ascension as not being gory and brutal enough to warrant cinematic treatment.

Maybe one day Mel will "wake up" and will be like those men in the movie, "Bridge over River Kwai"---they build that bridge for the Japs----they were so proud of that thing---then it suddenly "dawns" upon them---"What have we done??"---maybe one day Mel will try to plant some dynamite under that film and go back to the drawing board.

I just wonder how good we are at defending the real Jesus as we are in what we see in this film?? Oh, we say things like, "Me? Yes sir! I'll stand up for Jesus!" but when it comes time to stand up---too many times than none---there's a rooster in the background singing at the top of his lungs, "Cock-a-doodle doo! Cock-a-doodle doo!"

They tout it as "true to the scriptures" and

The problem isn't Mel Gibson and Hollywood and the problem isn't even Roman Catholicism.

Great cinematic photography. Great acting. Great sub-titles. Great surrealistic special effects." ......

....then you may be in danger of using the wrong standard to judge spiritual things.

If you want to use The Passion to reach lost souls, go right ahead. Paul said no other foundation can be laid but Jesus Christ, but be careful how you build upon it.

I will not use The Passion for anything. But do what seems best to you.
