The Dems convention will be another denial and fantasy land fest where they will ask us to consider how we want to feel in the future, rather than how we feel now. They will focus on what we want our lives to be like in four years, not what they are like now. Be patient with our plan, it is starting to work and in four years all will be peaches and cream.
The economic plan will be a theme of class envy. The rich don't pay their fair share, they will say. If the Bush tax cuts would have expired we wouldn't be in this much of a deficit mess. He will again call for repealing the Bush tax cuts on the richest 2% of wage earners. (Never mind he could have jettisoned them anytime during his first 2 years in office with Dems controlling both chambers of the legislature.)
They will run through statistics of just how bad the economy was when Obama inherited it and urge patience and trust in their methods. Let's not go back to the failed policies that got us here in the first place, they will say. (Better to stick with their failed policies, apparently.)
I predict that Obama will come up with some sort of a new subsidy for college students, or some new program aimed at lessening the expense of college tuition.
He will tout his environmental record (BTW, anybody seen that anywhere? Ha!) and call for more green energy initiatives, government sponsored of course.
He will take credit for ending the Iraq war and killing bin Laden.
Anybody else want to chime in with some predictions?
