    Liberal Christians and Islam.

Do you believe that Christians should defend Islam?

Do you believe that Christians can worship the same god as Islam?

Do you believe that Christians are misguided when they support Islam?

Your questions are non sequiters and are not necessarily related to one another. Even if they worship the same God, that does not mean that they are right.

While they can worship the same 'god' and be wrong - Catholicism for example - asking if they worship the same God is a valid question. IMHO.

Where were the Caner brothers born? Their Ergun's bio says he converted to Christianity in 1982, over 20 years ago - how old are they anywho? Curious minds want to know.

Thanks. Did their parents immigrate here as well? Sounds as though they had interesting lives.
Credibility. Since you quoted them, I'd like to have a sense of who they are and the breadth of their experience and knowledge. They are occasionally cited as expert "former Muslims", so I was wondering how Islamic they were before they became Evangelical Christians.

George Bush believes that Christians and Muslims worship the same god. He believes that Muslims have a "different path to salvation." Is this the statement of a Christian? Not to me. Being a "liberal" Christian has nothing to do with it. Being a non-Christian does.

Thanks, those were all I could find as well. (The Bio2s seem to be the same as the Bios). Ergun is the older. He is both Turkish and Persian, says Turks are Persian.

I just found another one (looking for their father). This one (linkie) says Ergun was born cira 1960 and grew up in Ohio. It says he converted in the eighties which would make him around twenty or twenty-two at the time.

Here (linkie) is a profile of Ergun in the Washington Post last year.

    Well . . . Daisy,

Since you are curious about the authenticity of former muslims as they quote the koran, what is your stance?

I notice how much integrity you want of others . . . Do you still think Adolf acting as a Christian? Do you still think mohamed was a good man?

The Caners were rejected by their father when they accepted Christ. It is ironic that they (and many other muslims) could give up so much for Christ . . . My friend's father went to the police station and ordered him to be killed on sight.

You bring up a great point . . . as Christians we look to the risen Christ and the Word of God - not to men.

    Thank you for sharing this!

The word Christian and any politician have no business in the same sentence.

No; HOWEVER, as Americans we should defend their right to practice Islam.

No, unlike the POTUS, I do not feel that we worship the same God.

No - freedom of religion is for all people, not simply the Christians.
